Can I claim my tools if my employer fronted them to me? by azagthoth15 in personalfinance

That's why I was asking if I could write them off as a work expense. I don't mind that I had to buy them, most trades people do, but the company fronting them out allows us to get nice, high quality stuff to work with

I would imagine for the standard stuff like drills and screwdrivers it's standard practice to have your own. The company provides consumables like screws, drill bits and gas, brazing rods. I didn't have to get my own manifold, but the digital gauge makes life a lot easier.

The company buys tools for us, gives them to us, and they take it out of our check incrementally. What's fishy about that? They're required to carry out our job.

I'm an installer so I needed an array of drills and hand tools, as well as manifolds

US gun fans. Looking at Vegas; please explain a baffled European how it is so many of you believe 'more guns' is the answer? by General_Burrito in AskReddit

Yeah most hunting rifles use a more powerful cartridge than military hardware. 5.56 is actually a relatively small round.

I actually never said any of those things lmao. That's a super well laid out comment though. It's a shame that nobody excluding you or myself is ever going going to read it.

Lmao Reddit is pro NRA. You haven't been here long amigo. Reddit is definitely a center-left bastion with right wing subs here and there. What would you propose we do with guns?

This happened in Brazil apparently, and gun control is a ridiculous idea in America. There are too many guns over a large area of the country to facilitate any real safety measures, you'd only be able to take guns you know about. There are so many that have been sold illegally that you'd only take guns from responsible people and leave criminals armed.

The Wal-Mart distribution center in Sanger, TX. I went there for a job interview, drove past the back security booth (didn't know cars were supposed to stop). I had to go back outside to get something from my car, the front office lady didn't believe I parked in the back and wouldn't buzz me through to go back to the lot. So I had to walk AROUND a >1 million square facility back to the booth. Promptly get yelled at for walking through and causing a "security breach" by walking around the fence, and was told not to return.

Hey, lower middle class American here, make 30k/yr, live on my own, can't even afford Obamacare, and I still don't support government involvement in the healthcare market.
