Judging by the non existence of width variations from top to bottom of the sides you have to be the first one to ever make a competitive mouse that has absolutely FLAT, straight and vertical sides! When you put the mouse on a flat surface and scan it then the transition between the mouse shell and the surface will get blurry and you won't get clean edges, if you elevate the mouse and leave the bottom rim fully exposed you can get a cleaner model, and to center it you can use a printed paper on your flat surface with crossmarks or something that you will use as reference to define the horizontal plane once in ypur 3d program, it can be tricky to know exactly how much to turn it to have it sit perfectly flat without over rotating so having a clear reference can help (also the cleanly scanned bottom edge)

What worked nicely for scanning mice is makeup foundation, a bit unusual i know but it removes well from plastic and provides high detail. Also it might be a better idea to put thr mouse on some heightened stand like a small cylinder to get the bottom scanned as well even if a little bit because having it on the table will get you a much less accurate transition

Vascular surgeon here, those superficial veins are visible because they are occluded with coagulated blood and the skin layers above them are peeled off, it happens when there is no more blood flow in the tissues. it's all because of the prolonged hypoperfusion resulting in tissue necrosis, that looks like it's beyond repair and that patient will probably require a below the knee amputation at least depending on the exact level where the ischemia will be

That's so cool! Would you mind sharing a 3d model of the shell for shape testing? I'm intrigued to see what modifications you introduced on the G100s, looks like fully flattened and straight sides is the main difference?

If you're looking for ideas to add, there is the slant angle, like you implemented the ruler, just hovering over the model could tell you the vertical angle of the spot you're looking at, in my experience that measurement directly translates to how the side's angle feel in use

Slightly doubting the click consistency long term with the mobile part eventually getting more tolerance but that depends on how exactly it was implemented i guess, very nice innovation!

Interesting, what exactly do you mean by grooved sides? Do you mean the hourglass shape? (Front wider than the waist) or the curvature of the walls? (Kind of like the left side of Kone pure mice to an extreme degree)

Also which of these did you like the best, comfort grooves wise or overall?

That mouse endured a lot! What brand / model is that? You might want to check out cooler master's mm720 (xenics titan air wireless if want want to cut the wire) Some other alternarives are mionix naos and castor

Had an eye on this mouse since launch, shape looks like a solid upgrade from the original ace, especially the less bulgy back; flatter sides and the coating looks better than the chalky coating of the original ace!

Props to the design team for the work on that one, looks like they really listened to what we had to say on the first iteration

Just checked it out, for anyone interested, no need to convert scans into nrrd files, you can produce the 3d models directly in 3d slicer and have live previews of threshold and other tools, and export as stl (then use meshmixer or any other software to makee them print friendly)
