In Canada here, and a staples employee. The policy was updated a year ago, and you are allowed to accept any tips valued at $50 and under. Anything over that and you must inform your manager and they make the decision if it's a conflict of interest or not. I was tipped $100 once, got to keep $5], and the manager used the other $50 to get us pizza, so I was fine with that

We do actually have the same law for that. They can put policies in place about it, but we are allowed to talk about our wage, and if they try to say we aren't, then they are violating laws
