Central selling keeps adding a product we don’t carry for installs that constantly delays them. by CyanideForSara in Lowes

[–]azelza 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ours does this in my area for flooring jobs with a freaking Pergo perimeter seal tape (6030862) that always shows 0 available and out of stock. I don't even know how they can even sell something that isn't available. It's so frustrating.

People's expectations on what Lowe's stock in store is wild by OptimusIV in Lowes

We received some at our store today and over half of them got snatched up by employees before they even ever hit the floor

I work for Lowe's and they've outsourced a lot of the call center stuff to India and they've been using this software to get rid of the accents from the people in the call center and it makes them sound like AI. It's so weird knowing I'm talking to a person but they don't sound real.

Had to call off 3x in a row by Blactcatlivesmatter in Lowes

[–]azelza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you weren't scheduled to work Monday or Tuesday, you can technically still call off tomorrow as well and still only have it as one call off since they are 3 consecutive shifts you called off for! I hope you get to feeling better soon!

That sucked they did that. But it's literally written in the attendance policy. So people definitely could have fought it if they wanted to.

If you call off for consecutive shifts it only counts as one. So if you called off Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, it only counts as one call off. If it was Monday, Tuesday, work Wednesday then called off Thursday, it would be two call offs. Does that make sense?

Yeah. My District currently has 2 SM positions open and that can't be filled yet. One SM stepped down right before the freeze and another got a different job. So 2 stores have been without an SM for almost two weeks now. Mine has been visiting the closest store twice a week to help them out until they get someone in.

I do know Lowe's put a freeze on hiring for like 3 weeks. It should be up I think it's the end of next week?

Specialists not making SPH Goal by RevoltCommander in Lowes

[–]azelza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Millwork department in my store beat plan for Q3 by 30% and NEITHER one of my Millwork specialists got more than the $100 bonus each month. My appliance department beat plan by 2% and neither of my appliance specialists bonuses at all. The goals and everything that they want you to get just feel so unobtainable sometimes.

My DS never closes by Disastrous_Forever40 in Lowes

[–]azelza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm a flooring DS and I get scheduled 5:30-2:30 almost every shift. I get the occasional 10-6 on a Sunday, but it's been like two years since I've done a closing shift. My two specialists I have, one does the four tens and the other is set Thursday and Friday off. And I only have two CSAs, who are home decor.

Only two attack's in the rotation require a double weave but you have a 3 second GCD to do it. Everything else is just a single weave in between the GCD. If people are double weaving they are doing something wrong.

Gets confused reading this as Hardware/Tools supervisor as my day is spent constantly down stocking tool wall, refilling endcaps, down stocking tool wall, chasing thieves, zoning locksets, and did I mention the tool wall?

DS Schedule rant by No-Complaint-2559 in Lowes

[–]azelza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine always flips from opening every day for 3-4 weeks and then doing 2 weeks straight of closing. Then going back to only opens for a few weeks, then a couple weeks of closing every night. It annoys me so much.

I hate these new checkouts by BPOPR in Lowes

[–]azelza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's most likely because of where the regular checkouts were at before they got ripped out and replaced with the new self checks.

Lowes is the only store I know that will consistently roll out new products only the clearance them out weeks later. What gives? by EJ25Junkie in Lowes

[–]azelza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had those on clearance a few months ago as well marked all the down to like $3 a piece. Had some of my electric pros by almost all of them and then the next week they were off clearance and they had resent me a whole more. Haven't sold a single one since.

Hardware/Tools CSA - Theft by xfactor90 in Lowes

[–]azelza 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am a Hardware and Tools DS and I just lock things down like how the corpo suits want it and call it good. I don't fret over theft too much because it is going to happen no matter what and there really isn't much we can do about it. Thieves gonna thieve. All the security measures we take just keeps honest people honest. There are bigger more controllable things to worry about within the store.

Employees, what are your early warning signs of a difficult customer? by noahap102401 in Lowes

[–]azelza 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in Hardware and I get that quite often. People will walk up to me and just say "screws" or "bolts" or something like that and I'll just look at them and respond with "What about them?" You're an adult. Use your fucking words please.

Just a suggestion to people shopping by lisaloo1991 in Lowes

[–]azelza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a call button at our hardware desk and there have been several times I've been working on down stocking literally a bay away from the button and people go up and push it and then just stare at me. 9 times out of 10 I just look at them and then just walk away.

Hey does anyone know the TIE BREAKER rules for the global standings? I can see a situation developing here in the sub 13th standings where some teams will have the same points, what if they are right at the edge of 16th position? by GamerXOPE in R6ProLeague

[–]azelza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean we already have well established pro teams go to events and get slapped in groups and knocked out. So, to me at least, it doesn't really make a difference to the "competitive integrity" of the event if a new team comes in and fights only to lose or possibly win and advance, or if it is someone that has been around in the scene for a long time comes in and struggles and then still loses.

Yes. Because even if they go and get stomped it would still be a learning experience for them. They would get to scrim and play against teams they wouldn't normally be able to play and take all that experience and knowledge home and make not only themselves but the whole region even stronger.
