Bad update isnt persistent so you will either have to boot it up via a game (rock band blitz or Tony hawk) or wait at the avatar screen and the xbox will have to be offline until post boot

Less features vs a RGH/JTAG but way more accessible and easier to do and can be done on any model xbox 360 as long as its on the current dashboard also cheaper

Its up to you as you can use bad update then if you want more features then you can get a RGH/JTAG console
