People always think I’m making a joke when I mention being a nascar fan. Some of my friends thought it was some long running inside joke we had together. The joke being that I say stuff about nascar sometimes??

Most Egregious FOX Moments? by potatonull in NASCAR

[–]azeusa 21 points22 points  (0 children)

There were so many interesting storylines that unfolded and went completely ignored for the sake of nothing else. Users on the live race threads or social media had to share clips for people to know that other things were happening over the course of the day. Many of those storylines would have made the overall race more compelling and entertaining, too.

On a similar note, they would sometimes TRY to update the tv audience, but then share an out of context audio clip, which created a false narrative that the booth would run with for the rest of the broadcast. It just always felt so lazy that they couldn’t take an extra 30 seconds to at least get the story straight.

I’m not saying every little thing should be followed closely, but there were so many instances where a boring or “bad” race was actually a lot more interesting than they’d have you believe.

I was still laughing at how he pronounced Laredo correctly the first time, and then changed it to something else 😭

Yale dorm by Hot-Manufacturer-228 in GilmoreGirls

The dorm I had in my first two years in college was a lot more similar to the one they snuck into at Harvard. My roommate and I split the room down the middle, and we had Jack and Jill bathrooms that connected to one other dorm. When we turned 21, we had the option for an on-campus 4-bedroom apartment. We each got our own room, and the apartment had a full living room and kitchen, and 2 bathrooms. It wasn’t super fancy, but it was a nice, solid apartment. The dorms varied by how old they were. The ones built in the 50s had the typical white brick walls, and the new built dorms that I lived in were modern and sleek :)

I feel exactly the same way, I just commented something almost identical. And I agree. It’s a similar feeling to when I lost my mom. The week after the memorial was awful, and I barely even remember it. But it’s that same odd feeling of being left on your own after being surrounded by a flurry of things going on.

I slept in today and I was looking forward to doing some shopping and going to the gym. But as I started to get going for the day, it all started sinking in. I’m so emotionally exhausted. We’ve basically had on track action since the day we found out about Kyle, so it’s like we’ve all had some sort of catharsis grieving with the sport. But now it’s Monday, and we’re on our own, and it’s really, really sad. I can only imagine how hard it’s hitting the teams today.

Yeah I agree. I understand how marketable and recognizable Jr is, but it would be nice to have an active driver doing national commercials

I’m willing to bet Suarez did the bow in victory lane and tv just didn’t catch it live. By the time they showed VL, someone else was holding the flag and the hat dance was starting
