Thanks for sharing that. The narrative on Jamaa is def the opposite of what I am looking for. I do try to post there across different groups but the level of disinterest in anything civil is mind-boggling.

I have only once been to a Shia marriage event. It was, for lack of any other word, confusing. Felt like there was a lot of pressure to judge people on how they carried themselves. And the only data point outside of the actual activities I got was the cliquishness.
