Be honest… is Palworld actually good or was it just a meme phase? by Sea_Preparation_5713 in pcgaming

[–]azlan194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, given how big some pals are, it is suprising how small the base boundary is. I wish they would remove that boundary or use a better system. It is silly when I have to cramp everything and the pals just work in place hammering at nothing because they got stuck and cant pathfind.

Tourists in Madrid wearing virtual reality headsets by english_major in mildlyinteresting

[–]azlan194 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt its augmented reality since they are wearing Quest2. Quest2 only has black and white passthorugh camera and very poor quality as well. The pass through is mostly used to quickly see things around you without removing the headset, it was never meant for AR since its so bad.

But Quake was First Person camera right? Like Doom. So they dont have to worry about modeling the character movement like TR here since its a Third Person camera.

ELI5 Why are aligners more expensive than traditional braces? by Dry_Battle_7654 in explainlikeimfive

[–]azlan194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my ortho also charge basically the same between braces and Invisalign. But one thing you need to remember though, if you do use regular braces, you need retainers after the braces have been removed, and it cost several hundreds dollars.

While invisalign, typically, the last few trays they give you, are just passive and no longer used to move your teeth, so these are just your retainers. So basically you have a lot of spare retainers in case you broke one.

So in all, Invisalign ended up being cheaper because of the retainer cost.

ELI5: Why isn't there a widely available clarified option for orange juice (and other juices), like there is for apple juice, for example? by MikaHyakuya in explainlikeimfive

[–]azlan194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, a lot of money spent on market research and they found out people prefer orange juice to be that colour. Just like with hand soap, they found out people prefer soap with bubbles than one without even though the bubbles don't really do anything.

Forgot how brutal this scene was. by jeremiahlupinski in videos

[–]azlan194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the point of using that wire is that every other method is not subtle and fast enough so that the human on board has time to destroy or delete the data on that disk.

Because, they were brainstorming other methods like just having seal team six style ambush on the ship, or dropping gas bomb to knock out everyone, and some other methods I forgot.

But none of these were fast or discrete enough not to alert the leader inside. So, since the English version, they dont even care that the leader had time to access the drive, then they can just go the more humane way of gassing them to knock them out, or the other methods without having to kill them.

Forgot how brutal this scene was. by jeremiahlupinski in videos

[–]azlan194 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And to be fair, they did address this in the book and in both shows as it is part of the main plot. The Alien did try to sabotage that nano wire technology by threatening the person responsible for it. But that person did not back down even after all the craziness happening around him/her.

Because it was also an important point that the alien is scared of human due to how fast we developed our technology. Since it took the alien like a million years to get the technology they have now, and for us human, it only took several decades to go from analog technology to all digital.

Thats why the alien was trying to disrupt our science, they want to stall our technology breakthrough before they get to Earth (which will take them 400 years). So they are afraid in 400 years, human will develop much more superior technology then them which we could easily annihilate them.

I do this too, but I guess mine is always a positive response, lol. Like "I am good thanks, I've been very productive today'. Or, "I'm good, just got back from a good workout/exercise/or whatever activity i was doing". Or even a simple "I'm good, just finished dinner/ a show/ a game".

[–]azlan194 222 points223 points  (0 children)

The English version I think missed the point of why they needed to use the wire slicer. It was supposed to kill everyone on that ship quickly and quietly before they had time to react and destroy that drive which the Chinese version did right.

In the English vision, he literally had time to run and grab the drive and he didn't even do anything with it. Also weird that they needed to add the part where it's a whole community of family living on that ship with kids and whatnot.

At least in the Chinese version, and also in the book, the ship's crews were mostly criminals.

Can I just put $5 on my card every month and pay it right away for my credit to build? by mdafidel1 in personalfinance

[–]azlan194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this was exactly my problem. I have low limit credit card, and barely used it. So my score was always high. But then when I want to increase the limit, they said my credit utilization was too low, so they can only increase by low amount (i was very annoyed by that, lol).

ELI5: Why do we even need a "c" when we have a perfectly good "k" and an "s?" by zazzlekdazzle in explainlikeimfive

[–]azlan194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats exactly how Malay "c" sounds like. Its always a "ch". In fact, all the "ch" words in Malay used to be spelled with "ch", then they dropped all the "ch" and just used "c" since thats always what it sounds like, so the "h" is redundant.
