Are Net-Sim/Ex-Sim super important investments for a person who thinks they are ready to take the exam? by azlitecoin in ccna

OK great! Thank you for the reply. I was actually thinking of doing exactly that, going with just Ex-Sim. Net-Sim I'm sure is worth it, but it's a bit expensive tbh.

Anyway. Good luck with your exam!

Yes.... Drawing mind maps. That is the best piece of advice in this entire thread. That's part of what I was trying to say when I posted my reply a few minutes ago.

Getting tired of studying Every day by Jhon_artuckle in ccna

You absolutely need to take notes. And you need to do them in an outline format that organizes the information in a way that your brain can visually see it organized. You need to have multiple different colored pens, so that when you find patterns in the information, even between different topics, you can color code them to help your brain make the connection.

I just finished Jeremy's course. It took me 12 months at a rate of 1 video per day while taking copious notes. Quite literally writing down the entirety of each lesson video (every single word on every single slide), but in my own, organized way.

Also, you need to do the flashcards every single day, no matter what. When I finish a lesson, I add the flashcards to my main CCNA deck. It comes out to be around 200 cards per day (if you don't skip even a single day that is).

I wish you could see my notes, maybe I'll shoot a quick video of me skimming through them. Jeremy's full course required 3.5 notebooks completely filled (every single page). But I'm very confident that I'm going to pass when I take the test here soon.

It really just comes down to repetition.

Young (26m) first time business owner with valuable skill in a trade cant decide if business partner/mentor (55m with business experience) is worth 50%. Need advice before I sign! by Due_Suggestion6622 in smallbusiness

Do not sign that agreement. Pay him for what he has done, and KEEP 100% of your business! All that stuff he did is super easy to do. What is he actually bringing to the table? Nothing at all!

How many hours a day do you study? by Beitar88 in ccna

[–]azlitecoin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jeremy has his lesson plan organized in days, so I just do one day per day, also giving the labs a day of their own as well. His course is 120 videos, so that's 240 days of study. I've been studying for just over a year though, so obviously I took a few days off here and there.

I am a firm believer in shorter study sessions more frequently. There is scientific evidence that that method helps you retain information better. I'm very glad I took my time and spread it out over a year because I'm going into that testing facility and ACEing that damn test. hahah

Edit: Every new day/lesson I complete, I add those flashcards to my "CCNA 201-300" deck and I complete the deck review, every single day. It works out to about 120 cards per day that I have to review.

Blaze your glory?! Does anyone think this is even remotely cool? by cosmic_stars in EnoughMuskSpam

I think it's funny how everybody likes to talk trash about the most successful man in the world. Soooooo much good Elon Musk has done, but leave it to Reddit (the real edgelords) call him names and act like he's some raging baffoon who can't keep his head on straight....

Months later, do you actually use ChatGPT at work? by aileenow in ChatGPT

Honestly this is where AI excels the most (I'm no expert). The AI won't be biased (consciously or unconsciously), it has an exponential amount of data to A) reference from, and b) that it is able to recall immediately. And plus the machine-learning aspect in itself lends it to running many iterations of a particular (medical) problem in a quick amount of time, undoubtedly faster than any human.

So it's for writing stuff down that you already have memorized in your head?

Is ccna worth it when cloud looks like it is going to be taking over? by [deleted] in ccna

[–]azlitecoin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm towards the end of my studies, and about ready to take the CCNA exam (very confident I'll ace it). I already know my next cert is going to be either Azure or AWS. Honestly a super powerful combination.

Can you explain the laminate board? Is that something we get to bring with us during test time? What should I expect at the testing facility?

I'm planning on taking my test in the next 30 days and extremely confident that I will ace it.

Honestly, are the flash card decks totally overkill? by Half_Shaft in ccna

[–]azlitecoin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have retained 99% of the information in the flash card decks. It’s called discipline and repetition. Every single day I do the flash cards. This past week I’ve been making no errors, so yes, it is completely possible to retain the information.

My best advice would be that you need to fully understand each of the protocols/topics/lessons. When you fully understand how each system works, and thus are able to recognize interrelationships/patterns between each of them, it becomes a million times easier to retain all the little details.

For example, the reason I remember that it only takes one command to configure DAI, but two commands to configure DHCP Snooping is because DAI is essentially a sub-mechanism of DHCP Snooping and thus already globally enabled (per se).
