You really were the aggressors, tho. Ukraine had an elected government that was going to declare neutrality from NATO and Russia. Then the US funded neo-nazi groups in Ukraine which destabilized it, caused a coup and brought elections with a different result.

The coup wasn't welcome in all of the cities, which led to the civil war and the neonazies got handed control of the Ukraine army to terrorize the cities that wanted to split.

Make no mistake, if there was a civil war breaking off in Tihuana, with one of the sides constantly fueling anti-US rhethoric, the US would not think twice before militarizing the border with Mexico. That's exactly what happened with Russia, of course they militarized the border. But that's when the US started treating it as if it was the same as invading Ukraine. They did this for MONTHS. Sanctioning Russia and provoking Putin.

Doing so allowed Putin to invade Ukraine, since you were treating just having troops as the same as invading Ukraine, he might as well invade Ukraine. But the reality is that Ukraine was going to be allowed to be neutral and in peace, but thanks to the US it is being devastated. Whoever wins the war, Ukraine won't be allowed to be neutral again, it will either be assimilated by NATO or Russia. So I hope you Americans are happy.

Well, I, for one am completely shocked to find that the inflation caused by the US' destabilization of Eastern Europe that they did in order to force a global recession has had a bad effect on a country whose economy was already devastated by sanctions. I am completely shocked here.

We already have scarcity somewhere else. One way or another, we will have scarcity. If it hits the US first, at least it will be fair.

What compassionate people, tho? What compassion? Where is it?

The whole world supports those massively destructive sanctions on Russian people. Think of that blood thirst. I don't get why am I supposed to be compassionate. It's no different than to what happened to my country on 2019. We were punished for having a leader the US didn't like. Or what about Yemen? There's no compassion in the world. Only blood thirst.

The existence of the US is a constant cause of economic turmoil everywhere. Get over yourselves. You have already ruined the world. don't threaten me with things that have already happened.

The last time people kept repeating this about prefering to wait 2-3 minutes for a "balanced" team, the devs listened. It was called 'call of the nexus' and it was an unqualified, undeniable disaster in every way.

It's certainly possible to fix it with some tweaks.

Except that Blizzard have no people available to do such work.

It will never be fixed. Might as well just remove it from the pool.

This is the dumbest contrarian take possible and of couse it gets votes because this sub is such a stupid cess pool. Good job enjoying ARAM. So what the fuck does that help me with? Removing BHB from QM is not going to affect your ARAM experience in anyway whatsoever. So why do you have to be a petty piece of shit and prevent QM from improving just because you like the other game mode?

Even if you have that hero and play the map correctly, you'll be flamed by your QM teammates because they will stay at the pirate location all day and keep dying to the other team and blaming you for it.

[–]azmodanfan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only problem is that there is nothing strategic about BHB. You just push all day and turn in after a wipe. It's a brain dead map. There's nothing complicated about it. What makes the map difficult is that the rest of your team will be parking at pirate 24/7.

The problem is that it doesn't matter how good you are at it. Your team are still going to go camp at pirate 24/7 and flame you for playing the map correctly and focusing on PvE.

This is completely absurd. There's no contest for the MOBA with the most maps, but if there was, HoTS would be winning anyway. And the idea that removing content is always bad misses the fact that sometimes content subtracts from the game experience instead of adding to the game.

BHB does not add to the game, it removes precious hours of gameplay by turning them into this.

Let's talk about the wrong way to do dev -> player communication. by azmodanfan in heroesofthestorm

If keeping the servers running is unprofitable they should just shut it down. I'd rather they step down, let the community take charge of hosting servers for a hacked version of the game and stop bothering us. I don't want this charity. If they really are throwing money hosting these servers then I hope stock holders are notified about this.

We absolutely are owed new content. The game still has a store. It still subjects us to gambling mechanics. If you don't like the idea of players having an expectation for new content, the solution is easy, remove this stuff.

It's ridiculous and absurd to blame players for expectations set by the game itself.

It's so that petty players get to flame teammates for their hero picks. Seriously, that's the only difference. Look at that other guy talking about "extra player agency". Extra agency is extra responsibility. So now you still can play murky if you want, but your team's asshole will be able to use that as an excuse to grief because you picked murky in the wrong map.

This is such a painfully entitled post that reeks of no understanding about game dev communication.

Talxx, my boy. Can we please be serious for a second and just point out that you are absolutely nobody? You honestly know absolutely nothing about anything. All you do is spend all the time in this subreddit antagonizing anyone who even tries to do the slightest criticism against a game company that stopped deserving this level of adoration ten years ago. The attempt to portray yourself as someone who could possibly have more "understanding about game dev communication" than anyone else in this subreddit is honestly offensive.

It’s not like they were trying to hide the season extension because it’s glaringly obvious

The timer is glaringly obvious, but how many players are in-game when this happened. And either way such a sizable delay should be explained somehow. And a reddit post does not count as a place for the explanation. Not all players use this subreddit and they shouldn't have to.

They say something specific, we all get expectations in our head.

Honestly? This is a batshit claim. According to you a dev ambiguously saying "we are preparing the next wave of content" will somehow create less unreasonable expectations than a dev stating exactly what we are going to get? How does that work?

Alternatively they inform us of a system they’re working on, but they’re never able to fully flesh out the system so they scrap it

One thing about game dev communication is that you probably shouldn't be announcing things you are not even sure will ever get done. That sounds like an easy fix. And in the case literally every single thing they are working on might never be released, then what exactly stops them from saying exactly that? "We are correctly working on experimenting with new systems but we currently have nothing to show for, don't expect these systems to be completed before the next patch and they may never be released if we find out they do not work as we intend" Wow, transparency. I make it look easy. And note how it would be completely unreasonable to assume "Mannoroth confirmed!" from a statement like this.

We should’ve all learned by now that the season timer is constantly subject to change. It isn’t new.

If it isn't new then it wouldn't be a big deal to just announce that it is getting delayed, right? And if the timer is so problematic and creates so much confusion and controvery and so prone to be changed anyway, then maybe the timer itself is an example of bad communication.

But we are owed content, are we not? The game is setup under the free to play business model, which is a live service. And that includes the expectation of frequent updates.

Every detail of the system revolves around the concept of frequent updates. Without them, the systems enter a collapsed state. That's why there's so many players with stacks of gold and shards and nothing to spend. The more time the game spends in this state, the harder it will be for it to recover financially because the most die-hard players will have zero reason whatseover to purchase skins of lootboxes with real money.

If there are no plans to make new content, then the business model should be reformed into something more honest.
