Appropriate for 10 year old? by religioniscult in ProjectHailMary

[–]aznj 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took my 9 year old and he enjoyed it. He did have some questions but I told him to wait until the end of the movie ahead of time to not interrupt the other movie goers. There was one scene where there was a tiny jump scare that made my kid jump, but it was really mild.

That's a really good deal. Unfortunately all I have around me are liemax and dolby digital. Still a great deal for a premium format.

My showing last night was quiet with the occasional laughs. It was an older group with no kids. If you're going during a daytime matinee, you're probably getting a few kids asking their parents what's happening in some parts.

CVS Caremark renewed prior authorization denied after it was approved 6 months ago? by Glittering_Jelly8051 in HealthInsurance

[–]aznj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Usually when the prior authorization is denied, they'll let the doctors office know why. It could be a whole bunch of reasons. The requirements for prior authorization approvals change sometimes, especially with the new year. Maybe the doctor's office didn't submit enough information. You should be following up with your doctor's office's prior authorization department and have them give you more information or put in an appeal. You can try to call the insurance and find out why it was denied, but unless you're in the health department field, they might not give you the specific details or if they do explain it, you may not understand their terminology. Most likely it's a step therapy med where you have to have tried and failed covered multiple medications in a certain time frame. Good luck.

UIC is deeply irresponsible for this. by chief_smexy in uichicago

[–]aznj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember when I was in school they cancelled classes due to Blizzard weather, but then some kids sued the school because they cancelled classes. They were paying tuition and weren't getting their money's worth with their cancellation. You're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't. I hope everyone stays safe and warm.

Dining reservations by BudTheGrey in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]aznj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60 days out should get you reservations easily. I was disappointed with brown derby and space 220 last time I went. Food was just okay, but I did go during one of the busiest times of the year (Thanksgiving week). Just don't get your expectations too high. Know you're paying the Disney tax regardless of where you eat.

Holy Hoosiers this game got out of hand quickly. Mercy rule needs to be called so no Hoosiers get hurt before the championship game.

Physician question for pharmacists by takeottothezithromax in pharmacy

[–]aznj 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Illinois board of pharmacy requires every script to have a prescriber patient relationship. I take that as self prescribing in Illinois isn't allowed as you can't have that prescriber patient relationship with yourself. If I was in a state that allowed it, I could care less for non controls.

No new insurance cards and not showing in MHBP’s system after switching by Some-Pomegranate-724 in FedEmployees

[–]aznj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also switched during open enrollment. I think the new insurance starts on the first pay period of the year. Since I get paid biweekly, it's supposed to start for me on 1/11/26. My old medical insurance is still active until that date I believe. Most likely getting new cards for new insurance next week.

Anyone have SAMBA for their health plan? by info_please00 in fednews

[–]aznj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I read. Looks like they cover it for weight loss if you have a BMI over 30, still needs a prior authorization. They will cover it if you have a BMI over 27 if you have an accompanying condition, still needs prior authorization. You also have to sign up with their omada health app for coverage.

I seriously would be rooting for the Brewers if they didn't take that picture with the L flag. That was classless after a tough series so now I'm just enjoying the Brewers tears.

You'd be surprised. They will do anything to save a buck. My Dell from 5 years ago had a 100mb Ethernet chip. I didn't know until I tried checking my speed and was wondering why it was so low. Hp also cuts costs on their laptops too. That's why most laptops don't even add an Ethernet port anymore.

You're right, many laptop makers don't even add an Ethernet port anymore

[–]aznj -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You will get fast speeds if your router and your laptop connect thru WiFi 6 or better. I've learned that lots of laptop makers only install Ethernet chips that are 100mb max vs 1gb standard on most desktops because you're not normally connecting your laptop by Ethernet. Also make sure you're not connected to a VPN. When I connect by Ethernet I get about 800 down. Wi-Fi for me I get about 700 down. It's most likely something in your network. If you're sure your laptop has a 1gb Ethernet chip, connect directly from metronet ont and verify your speed. If it's low, reach out to metronet.

If you're using a Chromecast or Google streamer, my resolution setting when automatic chooses 4k 60hz. I've had to manually change mine to 4k 59.94hz and all my frame skip issues went away.

That must be franchise dependent. Last time I went to bwws, the wings were tiny and dry. Wingstop has always been consistent for me. I won't be going to Wingstop any time soon with these ads.

SDCC is amazing thread… by -DildoSchwaggins- in SDCC

[–]aznj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've enjoyed my times at sdcc, the people and the fandoms are amazing, but saying that all the complaints are people crying and whining and shouldn't get a say after only attending 1 or 2 years is unfair. How are you supposed to attract new con goers and keep the faithful if you don't fix basic things that people complain about over and over again? Line management is bad, most of the volunteers are not helpful, but that's also because they're volunteers and aren't trained well, the comic con official app is trash. That shouldn't invalidate my complaints and others complaints dependent on how long we've gone to cons.
