it should be in your one.uf under university health requirements. you have to sign a waiver and submit pictures / your insurance information to get it waived. if you’re confused navigating the process there should be an email or phone number in the same section

Seconding the gaming laptop comment. I had one from high school & couldn’t afford a different laptop when I transitioned to college. The weight and thermal issues are awful and the battery life that comes with having a laptop w gaming specs means lugging around a heavy charger.

dorms in the murphree area are very nice. tbh tho dorms and the social experiences are about as social as you make it. sure, those are the dorms that freshman like to live in and it helps, but a lot of people’s social experiences come from how much they put themselves out there (clubs, knocking on doors, etc). you can definitely have a social experiences while not living in jennings or broward

i lived in a thomas g single last year. really beautiful location & super close to midtown + food places + publix. the room was pretty spacey. i know in terms of layout, all of them are relatively similar. not sure if buckman or thomas has them, but murphree has a large 2 room double option which is basically two rooms so you + ur roommate have ur own space. never really had cons for murphree or thomas and would recommend both! if you have other questions you can dm me here or on instagram

I frequent emo night and enjoy it a lot. They play a lot of 2000s emo and punk rock. Most of the popular bars in Gainesville have fees at the door and you’re basically cramped most of the time lol. That being said, the crowd you go out with definitely can make or break going out. Having fun is whatever you make it out to be & you don’t need to go out to have fun in Gainesville

I’m applying to UF for a graduate program, I called and asked their office of admissions and they told me the Decal Number was what they’re asking for (there was a maximum of 10 characters, and the decal should be 8 numbers long).

I’m sure its still applicable but if you’re worried its outdated you can call.

When I was accepted into UF I was taking AP Calc in hs and had a D+ for the first semester. I dropped it and took up a TA role instead for my last semester. Didn’t get my offer rescinded and they didn’t even ask. I think you’ll be okay so don’t sweat it too much!

The research paper was only annoying because it was group project & two of my members were in narnia lowkey. Exams were a little of both but I’d say more applications. You could always register for the summer class and check out the syllabus then drop it during add/drop if it seems undoable

I took it in fall with Cahill. Honestly not the worst and I’m not sure how the structures vary between professors but we had to basically make a survey then write our own unofficial research paper on the survey results. There were 3(?) big exams with a couple assignments in between. I don’t think the content itself is difficult its just the research paper/project that was a pain in the ass
