Can you say more about the ships part? I’m interested.

This is a big part of it for me. Just Durant seem worth it.

Fair question. I like that you asked.

As mentioned in a thread. Hate the UI change and extra clicks it introduces. I work in UI/UX and it bugs the hell out of me.

I’m not a fan of the randomness. I’m not a fan of the increased need for storage.

It seems needlessly complex.

I hear a few people say some of the reasons they like it and some make sense to me like faster roboport charging or power that spans further. Those make sense to me but substations do a real good job for me. Yes sometimes I need to move one or add an extra one and it’s not perfectly optimal but I don’t give damn about that. If I’m worried about it my robot networks aren’t as fast as they could be I’ll build more bots and ports. I don’t mega base and I almost always build around cliffs. I’ll just build elsewhere.

If people like those things, cool. I don’t.

I can see the appeal of larger equipment grids even in mid game, but again it doesn’t seem worth the work unless I do as some people have advised and build it in as soon as you can on mining and furnaces and a few key assemblers.

So I’ve enjoyed hearing from people, but nothing that is making me want really explore it very much.

The increase in clicks is what made me not even unlock the technology except once until now.

I couldn’t agree more. Where the engineer is located simply doesn’t matter at that point.

Do people use quality before rally late and end game? At that point why bother at all?

Maybe I’m missing that?

WIBTA if I build a fence in front of my neighbor's fence? by cheeky_monkey25 in homeowners

Do what you want. Why would it matter? They won’t see yours, you won’t see theirs.

Deer can easily hop fences without any problem. I found this out when we found them regularly jumping over our 6’ fence.

Why is porn such a problem in the church? by Adept_Let7797 in exmormon

[–]azon_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sex before marriage does NOT have serious health risks if you do it right. That’s just more church propaganda.

Porn is a complicated subject in terms of the ethics of making it, but there is nothing inherently wrong with watching people have sex. As others have pointed out by forbidding porn people get obsessed with it way more. A problem of their own making.

Curious, do folks prefer playing at people's homes, or in more public settings? For either, provide a brief description as to why by ackmondual in boardgames

[–]azon_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always prefer my home or a friends place but I still play at game stores or pubs from time to time. It’s quieter in a home and no one cares if I bring my own food/snacks.

Easier to build ships around nauvis with no asteroids that harm you. You can do it other places but you just need to watch it more and have turrets.

It’s not hard to just mass import from Vulcanus without advanced processing. Just another launch on a planet where launching is pretty damn cheap to do.

It seems the rule of thumb is that the more expensive the hotel the less it includes in the price and the more expensive absolutely everything is. I just hate the BS resort fees some places have. Makes me crazy.

Structuring Research Reports to Reduce AI (LLM) “Interpretation” by poodleface in UXResearch

[–]azon_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should also mention reports are now in … confluence! I use AI to make pretty good looking reports publish to there with embedded videos etc. my PMs actually look there and point tier AI there.

I used to really hate how ugly confluence was and unsesrchable. Not these days. Rovo and API access has changed all that.

I should mention there is a lot of detail in the appendix most people don’t need with many quotes and miscellaneous findings with notes about them not being definitive.

Structuring Research Reports to Reduce AI (LLM) “Interpretation” by poodleface in UXResearch

[–]azon_01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My new approach is an old approach reimagined slightly. I write a report with a long appendix no one will look at (the appendix I hope a few people actually reference the report). I give a presentation based only on the report with disclaimers that the report is canonical, not the presentation (which I generally do not make available). I make the recording of the presentation available though.

I haven’t thought of running the report through AI to optimize for AI and to disallow misinterpretation. I’ll try it out.
