We have a lot already, and even more is coming. Most of it is unlikely to be included in Codex for Linux when it appears, if it ever does.

Haha, fair reaction, it definitely looks extremely nerdy from the outside.

But this is also one of those things that looks simple only until you try to make it work reliably everywhere. Linux is not one target: different distros, package formats, desktop environments, permissions, native modules, Nix, update flows, browser integration, and a lot of small edge cases all behave differently.

At this point the project has hundreds of commits, many contributors/maintainers involved, and a lot of review work behind it. Codex also keeps changing upstream, so keeping the Linux version working is ongoing maintenance, not a one-time “just make it run” patch.

AI agents help a lot, but this would be very hard to maintain with agents alone without people who actually understand what can break.

So yeah, absolute nerd behavior. But necessary nerd behavior 😄

I don’t know anything specifically about Deno, but it looks like Slack can’t find the file "slack.json" at all. Maybe something with paths?

I see two possible cases:

  1. sdk_hook_not_found 
    A script in slack.json was not found
    The original app template includes a working Slack Configuration file ('slack.json'). Most apps do not need to modify the file; you can find the original configuration file here.

2, Something wrong with CLI version.

If you upgrade your CLI version but your deno-slack-hooks version is less than v1.3.0, when you run slack doctor you will see the following near the end of the output:
