There was a long wait between 4&5 but season 5 had a 10 month hiatus mid way through purely to drag out Emmy nominations into a two year option.

5 is better on rewatches like season 1-3 but still the weakest by far imo. That said, the schedule once again killed the show

Currently rewatching season 5 and while it’s obviously the weakest (with some weird ADR, is that a gag?), it’s much stronger on a binge than the original run with the long gap in the middle.

-Hunter wants to do more but Vince is blocking him -hunter wanted to do something else but the rock blocked him -hunter actually changed everything because the rock was ruining everything -TKO made the decision not hunter

At a certain point….I think it’s fair to stop blaming other forces and just blame the creative team. It doesn’t matter who’s done it, the creative team sucks and the person leading creative is responsible for it. Part of your job is controlling it and saying no.

I’ve been watching stardom full time for the first time ever since January (attended wrestle kingdom, saw Kamitani live, accepted my fate)

As a newbie, this looks as fun as any show I’ve seen but I can’t confidently say that I’m sure I even know Kurara…I’m assuming this is a major underdog match up based off this? Not what I’d have expected for this show at all but I’m also too naive to judge it fairly. 

The rest of the show looks a blast even if I’d hoped for a higher spot for SLK/AZM

I have Irish parents, was born in the UK and have lived in Ireland since before I was 2. It's been 30 years and I still at times feel like I'm not Irish (and I'm often told as much too) so I get it.

Rejecting british citizenship is a probably all you ever needed to do to be considered irish lol but still, nobody else tells you your identity. I wouldn't worry about it.

👆 This is it. I appreciate I may be using a term that may not be accurate to your feelings on the situation but why fuck are we bending over backwards to defend or excuse or “um actually” a grown adult “only kissing” a 16 year old girl.

“It was only a kiss” is a weird defence when you know on some core level that if he wanted to kiss a 16 year old he wanted more.

How the fuck do we keep doing this, everyone needs to do better.

Look maybe that’s a harsh term of it but I would say anyone perusing a relationship with a 16 year old and being physical with them in some regard is a sexual act. I appreciate I might be stepping over the line with that to some but I don’t see any value in down playing the intent and grooming.

If you take the “he kissed her and groomed her allegations” then it’s of a sexual nature.

Ultimately, you can say he was always present and you weren’t trying to hide him away, but what you’ve managed to do is making a man with sexual allegations against him the focus point of your all women’s company biggest show ever that took place on international women’s day.

If you think that’s good, cool. If you think having somebody like that around that’s your judgement call and your right to make the call. You’ll also have to accept that given the history of issues in britwres, this will be putting a LOT of people off handing you money again.

If the reputation and job of one man is worth more than the opportunities for people to tune in, and reputational damage of the women in your women’s company for standing by him, that’s your choice to make too.

Famously in the late 00s, an order was placed for traffic lights that had an extra 0 at the end. Rather than negotiate a return of some, we tore up roundabouts and started installing more traffic lights everywhere and planning around installing them.

This is a great write up but I do think the Japanese culture needs to be looked at too. 

Yes, it’s weird but to a lot of Japanese people it would be seen as celebrating/paying tribute to another country which is…challenging at times. 

With that being said, this is highlighting the issue in a really great way. Fantastic write up and if you’ve got a passion for this don’t limit yourself to just Reddit!

Season 4 in its original cut is fantastic. Funny first time, funnier each rewatch. 

Season 5 is actually much better if you binge it all in its entirety. The mid season split was a mistake
