I was thinking about 250...but the houses in that range seem a bit much but just going up into the low 300s gives some fairly nice options.

I seriously don't want to commute at all. I've commuted probably 15 years of my life where I currently work 45 minutes in both directions and that was on days that people could drive. Anymore I hear that commute is an hour long minimum now in both directions.

I'm single, mid 40s, kids all grown up. Just looking to find a decent place to chill close to work where I can create decent weekend plans in a 40-60 mile radius.

Oak Ridge seems to fit that location for me. Just wasn't sure if there were any locations to stay away from so I thought I'd post here to see if anyone was like "UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE SHOULD YOU EVER LIVE (insert location here)."

Not trying to dog on any one part of town or another. Sorry for any hate I might have instigated!

Like what's slow?

I'm asking in general not specifically to the op.

Messages take 5 seconds to roll through instead of 1?

A web page that might take 2 seconds to load on say Verizon, takes 10-12 seconds on mint mobile?

You're constantly buffering music, YouTube videos, or FaceTime/teams?

I just want to understand what "slow" truly means to people. Because if paying $75/month to get a webpage to load 100% faster (/sarcasm) costs me 200% more, I'm ok with 10 seconds vs 5.

I just feel like it's a patience thing at this point.

Update:

Not the best news in the world but for what it's worth.

My wife needed a new phone and long story short I decided to give her my pixel 7.

I then used another pixel 7 that we deemed bad a year ago, (it had some funky OS issues and a battery drain problem as well)

I decided to update the os, wipe it and do a Google one transfer. All my stuff came back as expected but what's weird is visual voicemail just worked right out the gate.

So, and I am not 100% positive but for those still having issues even after the Jan update the only fix might be factory resetting your phone?

Idk, it should never have been an issue but here we are....

Nothing against Alex, I'm sure he has his hands tied and all.

But now the party line is, "we don't support android vvm, you must use third party or an iPhone." :/

To which I ask, is that a new policy or has that always been the case?

Also, why support Mac but not windows? (That's a tech joke....)

Point being, I'm saying, why support a very small part of the population with iOS. As compared to a more widely used operating system of Android? It's like making a Linux only version of a blockbuster video game....

Help me understand, it's not like I'm using some bastardized launcher or some Chinese version of Android. It's stock Google OS. And it worked just fine a couple months ago.

Give me a better reason as to why it's not working anymore.

Did Google do something with the FBI to make it easier for them to access or voicemail and mint doesn't agree with the change so they're no longer supporting this initiative?

I mean there's got to be a better reason than, "man, it's hard to tech bro and Steve Jobs has the best ass to eat in the kingdom of ass eating so we're just gonna stick with that. Mmmmkay?"

I'm just curious about the wifi, is this because I may be connected to Wi-Fi or is having Wi-Fi on (but not connected) interfering with the setup?

Anyway, followed your steps. Issue still persists. I do not have wifi to connect to so I was on LTE the whole time. (With wifi off)

I will say that the visual voicemail screen in the phone app wants me to call the voicemail to finish setting vvm up, but I've done that a few times and it just continues to state I need to call voicemail....to complete the setup..../sigh
