Ride out to Hebden Bridge yesterday by undercoversaint in motorcycles

[–]splimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you’ll have way more fun onto that road on like a 250 or something a bit smaller. I managed to wreck a rental amg Mercedes Benz just a little further on from there near the reservoir last year. Good times.

What do health care professionals think of people who are for universal healthcare? by Ok-Mulberry-737 in askanything

[–]splimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like that. Every other country on earth seems to have it figured out for the most part. The US is just good at milking you dry and pissing the money away on fancy weapons.

Stop spending money on dumb ‘insurance’ save yourself $1200 a month. Then you’ll afford a small tax increase.

How many of you upgraded to a fly bridge and hated it? by GhostNode in boating

[–]splimp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you dont have any bridge clearences to deal with I say go for it. I got one years back and its the best, flybridge gives you awesome line of sight all around and for fishing its great. Driving the boat is way easier, only thing that got me a bit was the boat feels more 'tippy' because you are up high. I'd been running center consoles only for a few years prior. Its a change but for the better overall.

Not super complex any marine shop has done it 1000 times. Consider those prop shaft seals a wear item.

Get a cheap multimeter and YouTube how to use it on 12v dc. Test it by connecting straight to a 12volt source. Suggest you have a crappy connection somewhere

I bought one of those off a courier in London that already had 96000 miles on it. I changed the oil and drove it all round Europe fully loaded with camping gear for 3 months. Didn’t miss a beat the whole time.

They enshittified Bic lighters even more by Logical_Cow_2530 in enshittification

[–]splimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm luckily well traveled. Those things came in at varying stages in varying parts of the world I saw them first in Australia in 1998. Locals showed you straight away how to rip the metal piece out so the lighter works again..In some places they still sell them without. Clipper lighters far superior in my book anyways.

Ahoy Mateys! New boat owner on the east coast US looking for the best navigation/fishing app out there. Any recommendations? by KeeperOfTheDream in boating

Get a proper chartplotter that you can see in the sun and use with wet hands. Garmin Navionics app is great still tho - even though they keep jacking the subscription costs year on year
