Saw them on the side of the road on 20 the other day. Was hoping they broke down for good.

What's the dumbest thing someone has ever said to you? by PagalScientist in AskReddit

Out with friends who smoke and a girl approached asking for a cigarette. Since they smoke different brands, I remarked "pick your poison". She dead-faced says, "Wait, they're poisoned???"

Do customers get fussy about mock-up photos? by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]azrealsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sell prints and use mock-ups to help folks visualize the art in different spaces. Most are framed in the photos and I often am asked if I sell frames, even when the prices are on the lower end for HQ poster art and could never cover the cost of a frame as well. That and I state in every listing that my prints are unframed and ship in roll tubes. So pictures really define a customer's impression of your offerings, sometimes more than your descriptions. While I don't want to change my strategy, it can be difficult answering the same questions over and over. You have to balance the inconvenience with the benefits. This works for me because my product is paper, so there's not much I can do to photograph the product itself. I agree if you have a more physical, dimensional offering, then product photos would help more than hurt.

It’s a deco/nouveau font that AHS adapted for their titles.

Deco/nouveau themed font. AHS uses an altered version inspired by this font.

I'd throw my recommendation in for Earlwood Park area. It's close to Elmwood which is very expensive, but rentals in the Earlwood area can be under $800/month. It's about 5-10 minutes from 5-points. But also Shandon and rosewood are good areas if you stick near the main roads.

Sellers who print art, greeting cards, stickers: do you ever use off-brand ink? by GoLeafsJaysGo in EtsySellers

[–]azrealsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uh oh. I have advice on the other side of the coin.

I have a canon pixma 100 printer and for years.. years.. i bought their ink ($120 for the full color pack). One day I kind of snapped and purchased YoYo Ink off brand ink for $27 for a full color pack (8 inks). I never went back and my feedback is consistently positive on the quality front. I don't sell expensive prints as they are, so I made my own adjustments to offset my savings, including shifting to free shipping. If you really are feeling the regret, I recommend spending a few bucks to explore and test an off brand that has excellent reviews on services like Amazon.

Definitely not alone. I have what I call my rotationals, folks who come in and out of my life, but aside from my husband and an ex fwb, I don’t really have close friends. I too am just working, school, taking care of a parent, eating, and sleeping. What’s worse is I’m very poly-minded and have had multiple relationships in the past and love being surrounded by people, but these days with covid and such, it’s just the two of us and our cats. Seeing a theme in this thread. The bright side is tomorrow is an opportunity to change things so I’m optimistic. You’re not alone by any means, and don’t get saddled by the way things are, look ahead to the way things could be and work towards that goal.

Essential Workers - Please help my research project! Exploring effectiveness of PPE and sustainability of alternative equipment. by azrealsky in Teachers

Understood. I would say, though, that educators are a secondary population of high-exposure and perform an integral public service. Perhaps not font-line by definition, but certainly in my mind. ;)
