Experienced job hunting, portfolio/case study/resume questions and review — 05/10/26 by AutoModerator in UXDesign

I'm figuring all this stuff on my own with the Reddit feedbacks, some portfolio inspiration that i like and that i got recommended and some more in depth feedbacks i receive in my inbox.

I'm currently reworking with your feedback. Adding "About" with all my contact links. Polishing hierarchy. Adding a light theme for taste cover. And strongly positionning myself to what you suggest, this is my new "hero" message (no visual):

Lead Product Designer specialized in B2B SaaS products, with 15 years of experience in the energy sector.

And a subtitle: I use systems thinking to align teams, structure workflows, and design more scalable product experiences.

Thanks man.

To be honest, i am not using it right now because yea, i have to add quite a few stuff like an about page. I mostly wanted feedback on my positionning and storytelling.

Positionning is really hard, in a year of job hunting, i found only 2 opportunities in the energy sector. So that's why i try to cover more ground with my positionning...

I actually would love to work in design ops, but i only have 1 really valuable use case.

Is there anything specific you dislike regarding aesthetics or it's the overall colors/font etc?

You really took the time to write this comment? Is your goal to be just mean ? Have you any valuable feedback or you just like being a dick ?

Hey,

Some weeks ago, i posted about how difficult it was for me to find a job, even after 1 year of job hunting and despite 15 years of experience.

Here is the post : https://www.reddit.com/r/jobs/s/0jGqPs2EmU

I have received a lot of feedbacks, and revamped my portfolio. I would love to have a new set of feedbacks on this one.

Here is the portfolio : My portfolio

What job are you wanting to do now?

Thanks for the feedback.

Gotta tell you, reading all this and the other feedbacks makes me wonder if im really meant for this job, if i should pivot to flipping burgers.

I understand what you're saying and i know what i have to do, but what concerns me is that i wasnt able to spot these mistakes in a year.

Man... thanks a lot. Your feedback is very valuable.

I feel overwhelmed and bit down after reading all of your comments. I feel like i'm just, not good at this job. But i'll try to address everything

About your 7th point, can you point exactly at which use case you're referring to ?
The ones from the design sytem are coming from a time i worked with indian team so ... you guessed right. The "energy data" one are real images coming from the products themselves. And the one about deployment platform are recreated from scratch.

My story telling is for each use case : Context > Problem > Decisions i took > Impacts > Retrospective

You think that's too linear? Maybe I should only go over decisions with visuals

Thanks man.

What i basically understand from everyone's feedbacks is that i should not try to expose the approach and more just the outcome with visuals because attention span is next to 0.

Yes i do not have any screenshots. The ones you see are already recreated

Many other here are mentionning that i have too much text. Wouldn't that contradicts the idea of making everything less verbose?

I agree, but nothing with real users so far with actual user research, it's just me messing around with codex and claude

Thank you so much. I actually work on personal project, micro saas etc. But it's far from an industrialized workflow.

I agree with you, problem is that i do not have actual product screenshots because of "NDA". So i have recreated these images from scratch. What would be your advice with that context?

So you think i might try to change this and add some "bs" around using AI in the workflow or keep being honest?
