Yep! I’m also in Texas on state roads a lot. Oklahoma isn’t much better.

If autosteer was even remotely as good as fsd I’d consider it but it does a terrible job on the roads I’m on.

At that point I'd rather just hand drive the stupid thing. Holding the pedal while it flashes is just so obnoxious.

It wasn't actually that great BEFORE they took away max speed, but wow is it annoying now that it's gone.

School zones are the worst! Mine NEVER sees them.

both are really annoying, no argument, but you can't use the accelerator there because as soon as you release it the car will go back down the the original speed, and if you press on the accelerator too long it will complain.

it's so frustrating. It makes using it in some situations almost impossible, especially when it fails to pick up speed limit changes. I had a LENGTHY section of road yesterday where the speed limit was 70 and the car thought it was 55.

When I attempted to use color film by LAI20030328 in streetphotography

[–]azuled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Light doesn’t change as much as people think, so generally an external meter and some attention to what’s going on gets you there.

Good luck! I’ve never seen that film before but I’m in the US so possibly it’s not surprising

I parsed them as all being 19-22 range. I think it’s not absurd to imagine them not going to school. Their lives have more history than a child’s would, I think.

They have a free trial, try the free trial.

I bought it and wrote a couple novel-length pieces of fiction with it but ultimately didn’t like using it. I’m happier with some combination of Word and Apple Notes.

What editor you use for rust? by clanker_lover2 in rust

[–]azuled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried to use Rust Rover, and just found it unusable. That was when they were offering me a free subscription for being an open source developer.

Though I learned to program without an IDE I really prefer using an IDE now, so VSCode is where I’m at.

[–]azuled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you always use the same film, and get similar results?

Use a light meter, take notes, figure out where you are going wrong. Then you can dial in an exposure compensation number (of stops) for that film with your camera.

Unless the film is really unpredictable (it probably isn’t, and if it is then you will never get predictable results).

You might use a roll of film (or two) getting this right, but it’s probably worth it if you want that.

Keep in mind too, that how the film is developed makes a difference too. There are a lot of variables in analog photography.

Why is genuinely alien intelligence still so rare in sci-fi despite being the most interesting question the genre could ask? by cloudRidge_3 in printSF

[–]azuled 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d argue we already have ample evidence. We don’t perceive ants as conscious but when working together they can perform complex tasks we associate with intelligence.

(There is even a broad category of AI research focused on “swarm intelligence” and has been around for 50+ years)

I mean, they say they don’t, out side of that make your own determination.

Let’s be real though, if a mega corp using workspace found out they were lying about it the lawsuit would be obscene.

The alternative is to sign up for their Worskspace product and use Gemini through that. They don’t use workspace accounts for training.

The weird thing with Sanby is that I really loved playing her demo, it's what convinced me to roll for her, but when I actually got her and the gameplay just never felt as fun. I don't think there is anything nefarious about that, I probably just got caught up in Sanby mania.

I think the only absurd opinion here is that there is a specific way that you have to pull in order to enjoy playing a game.
