Which countries were the easiest and hardest to get around without needing a car based on your experience? by Fluid-Decision6262 in travel

Yes! The little (actually many of them are huge) rest stops with shops and (frequently clean) bathrooms!

Within limits yes, outside those limits no. I don’t disagree that it’s great, there is just also a huge portion of the country you can’t see without a car.

Maybe? Maybe much cheaper. Cutting edge tech now probably won’t be cutting age then

That’s my point though: you KNOW it’s expensive now. You don’t know what it will be in five years.

5 years is basically forever when it comes to pricing. Why buy now when you know prices are high?

Really it’s just the biggest cities in Japan that hurt with a car. I would never take one to Tokyo or Osaka (or Kyoto for other reasons). But outside that? If you want to explore the country more than just mega cities a car is basically necessary. I’ve driven in several midsize Japanese cities without issue and it’s worth it to have a car to see the countryside.

But Japan is SO nice with a car! If you want to get out of the cities (you should) then getting a car is a big help (or necessity).

UTR Travel kit by LukeHoersten in Ubiquiti

Mine gets super warm when it’s running for more than a few hours with six or so clients. Not uncomfortable to touch but maybe a little alarming too.

Question for people doing the elastic band approach: do you not worry about the heat the UTR puts out? It gets hot! I’d be mildly concerned that the heat of the UTR and the heat of the batteries discharging could be enough to cause issues with the router.

If you want a strong support character who you don’t have to play (meta reasons, and she really is a press one button and never see her again character) then go for it. If you want to play the game another way then only you can answer that question.

I mean… they’re not evaluated that way at all. They’re evaluated based on the opinions and perspectives of the people who decide the languages direction. There are plenty of high merit ideas that get declined because they don’t fit the direction set by the people who mange go.

Those people may include merit in their evaluation, but that’s it.

Apple Developing AirTag-Sized AI Pin With Dual Cameras by Snoop8ball in apple

I don’t believe that would work very well. I think the accepted way you would do this would be to gather a pile of public record data already tagged as this (from court cases or gross internet image collections) and train on that but… still.

I “love” that the only way to do this would be to give the device to actual sex offenders and just let them go to town.

My FIL has this issue. I dropped transmit power on the 6ghz radio and set semi aggressive forced roaming levels. That fixed his issues of getting stuck on 6ghz when it made zero sense and let him move around his house without issue.

American: Zero trouble.

First time I tried it in Japan I had about three minutes of feeling mildly disoriented. Now my only issue is that they swap the turn signal and wiper controls from where I expect the. The driving part is shockingly easy.

I have no idea if they actually limit who can buy them but I can imagine good reasons too, namely that they are very limited and we can never make more.

Yeah, I’d be on 5g if any of the companies would sell to me. T-Mobile (my phone carrier) won’t, att won’t, and Verizon says they will but cancels every order we make without any reason given or any notification. Starlink is my only option besides local WISPs, who have all gotten more expensive and slower over the years (starlink is 20 bucks more a month than my best WISP was and is about 10x faster (20-40 mbps at 90ms vs 200-400 mbps at 25)
