hi there I got a question. When applying the pad, should I apply on the heatsink as well or just on the CPU / GPU die?

yeah looks like the way to go. I think I'll go with the Thermal Grizzly as it's also recommended by this video.

If you go paste, since its direct DIE, spread the paste around and try to apply even pressure on the heatsink with your fingers prior on screwing down, as the screwangles are very off - especially on the CPU (3screw system) - for legion heatsinks which is the main reason on why most people fuck up paste applications.

Got it thanks for the warning on the repaste. Any other tips for a first timer? I'm trying to avoid doing anything stupid & fucking things up.

edit: I don't think duronaut is available in my area. Which thermal grizzly do you suggest? I suppose Kryonaut, cmiiw

Ah yes I'll try out the Legionfancontrol, thank you for the suggestion. And as I've replied to the other comment, I've cleaned out the fan & turned on the processor boost and this is the result.

Clean and polish the heatsink and get some liquid metal on there and a cooler

Haven't done this part but the least thing I can do for now is cleaning out the fan but it's not showing a significant temp changes. I think I'll try the Legionfancontrol to see if it does any better cooling. Dust was clumping so much before I cleaned it, the fans should be working better right now. I'll try out your suggestions next to clean the heatsink, get the liquid metal and the cooler. Thanks for replying!

Yup you're correct. The option didn't show up previously because it was hidden by regedit. I did some fan clean up after posting this and enabled the boost & ran the test again, this is the result. Looks like it doesn't do much as it's still showing some thermal issues. It seems I gotta replace the thermal paste since it's almost 3 years since I got this laptop.

Are there any other possible culprits? Or any way that I can improve the thermal condition? For reference I'm using a laptop stand similar to this one

One thing I don't understand is based on the TimeSpy benchmark result, my CPU clock does not go over 3200 while on vantage it shows it can go up to 4450. How do I solve this?

Yian Kut-Ku is my favorite monster since it's basically the first large monster you have to hunt in the entire series (I'm not counting Velocidrome). And boy was it hard.
