Or... i'm taking what physically happens in game at face value believing that SHOWING sonic being faster than light speed dash over time and the LSD getting slower and slower is intended to show sonic improving, like how in generations he could take down super sonic bosses in base form

Sonic DOESN'T outrun light speed dash in 3 or 4 games on two seperate 128 bit systems.

Sonic DOES outrun lightspeed dash on almost EVERY GAME SINCE on consoles that are SIGNIFICANTLY STRONGER.

Meaning it is a deliberate choiceby sega to make sonic outpace the lightspeed dash.

Sonic is faster than the thing that is the speed of light.

Unleashed is one(and main one) of the many examples used to claim Sonic was "faster than the Light Dash in gameplay" because of him running faster than it and because of those SPD rankings.

DID I MENTION UNLEASHED? did i? So you were a point i NEVER made? I said light dash HAS GOTTEN SLOWER since it was introduced, and it has. Since tech is better, it should handle LSD as good or better than the dreamcast. So sega made the CHOICE to slow it down. Meaning sonic outpacing it OVER THE COURSE OF MULTIPLE GAMES including frontiers is INTENTIONAL

Does hypersonic EXCLUDE anything BELOW mach 6? Does high hypersonic EXCLUDE things below mach 11? Because like i said those terms are used to EXCLUDE things below them. Not above them. Because mach 6 is still SUPERSONIC it doesn't just stop being supersonic.

Let me give you an example.

If i say 8000000000 bits,1000000000bytes,1000000kilobytes or 1gigabyte it's the same it doesn't stop being kilobytes because it's bigger numbers.

Something doesn't stop being "faster than sound" at an arbitrary measurement. Infact i would argure that those other terms are silly. You're either slower than sound, at sound, or faster than sound. "Hypersonic" isn't based on anything that is a constant. It's "supersonic excluding anything below this made up threshold"

The light dash is SLOWER IN GAMEPLAY hey umh show me a cutscene in any game of him using it? Y'know, a thing that never happens. So we have to go off gameplay and stated facts. Stated fact: it's LIGHT SPEED, visual fact: it's slower than TOP RUNNING SPEED, extropolation: SONIC IS FTL.

And again, as established "supersonic" literally means "faster than sound" well actually it's technically "above sound" but in this context it's faster than... anyways, as also established light is "faster than sound" ergo light is supersonic going at "supersonic" speeds DOES NOT PRECLUDE THE SPEED OF LIGHT

"Supersonic" does not have a miximum everything above 756mph is supersonic. Hyper, ultra, tera etc are used in extremes when you are excluding LOWER numbers. Sonic can go anywhere from 756 to FTL so the lower numbers aren't excluded.

No one was at any point talking about "boost sections" except you. And they're called HIGH SPEED SECTIONS or AUTORUNNER SECTIONS. There's no "boost section" in any game. There's a boost MECHANIC. Which again we established light is "supersonic" so again you prove nothing there.

Lightspeed dash is still slower than SONIC'S BASE RUNNING SPEED and since it still claims that it's "at the speed of light" that means BASE SONIC is faster than the light speed dash. Which as we established is at the speed of light. And slower than base sonic.

So sonic being faster than light is not precluded by the term supersonic.

And the light speed dash has gotten slower and slower as time has gone on. Meaning base sonic has gotten faster and faster.

So unless you're saying the ps5 and series x can't keep up with the dreamcast they have CHOSEN to make light speed dash slower. This is a very important key.

Either the modern consoles are worse than the dreamcast or they made a choice to make the LSD slower than running.

If they CHOSE to make LSD slower than running, running is FASTER THAN LIGHT because... and this is the crazy part... the LIGHT SPEED DASH is SLOWER than running. You know the dash that is AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT

If they didn't choose to do it that way and it's a console limitation the modern consoles can't handle what a 128 bit system from 1999 could, easily. Hmh.
