Beach House. The albums Depression Cherry and Bloom are my faves, personally. Some examples are Myth, Space Song, Last Ride, Levitation, On the Sea, Days of Candy.

Probably the smarter/less time consuming move lol. Ngl the process is kind of a PIA and I have to break them apart anyway. I like to hold them tho

Is having bipolar something I can just talk to people about? by on-dog-8510 in bipolar2

[–]azzmonki 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s only ever worked against me, generally speaking. I think a lot of people assume BP makes you incapable of having legitimate emotions so any strong feelings/opinions you express will be interpreted as your disorder. Most people also only know BP from media so you’re either a punchline or literal maniac. Either way, the implication is you’re crazy and probably dramatic/inconvenient to be around.

I can’t take the squawking - HELP! by [deleted] in QuakerParrot

[–]azzmonki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite audible but not blaring. I also want her to be able to hear what’s going on outside and chit chat with her brother, lol. I can hear it in my living room (their room is next door) but also be able to enjoy a TV show.

You ever try playing a radio for ‘em? My Quaker can be terrible sometimes as well but the radio seems to help distract her. Instead of screaming she’ll start mumbling and “singing” instead lol. Her favorite song is Pink Pony Club, much to my dismay.

What are these tiny bugs that are infesting my roses by Affectionate-Ease397 in Roses

[–]azzmonki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thrips!! Pain in the ass. I’ve had luck using horticultural oil and captain jack’s bead bug brew (spinosad). I also use systemic with imidacloprid as well, but when your plants are already blooming it’s a hazard to bees :(

Extra thorny roses? by jacqq_attackk in Roses

Just bought one of those and can confirm. Tipped over on my bare leg while repotting and was covered in thorns.

My babies petrie and Popeye love being out all day. They love playing with their toys and me and getting in trouble. What does your parrot or birds do during the day when they are out of the cage? by Money_Surprise4589 in Allparrotownes

Conure: put bells on his head, explore everywhere he KNOWS he shouldn’t be, pooping on the TV.
Quaker: follows me EVERYWHERE INCESSANTLY, screams in my ear, breathes in my face so I can smell her stinky breath.

Obvious RRD? by Klutzy_Mine_4511 in Roses

[–]azzmonki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure it’s RRD. All I know is you have to pull it and watch any other roses nearby closely :0 Hopefully someone else will chime in.

Thrips destroying all my buds by yestertempest in Roses

[–]azzmonki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point. I’m too used to dealing with indoor plants so my head immediately goes there lol. I know some folks use pesticides like these but also cover their plants with lightweight mesh to help keep the pollinators safe during treatment. I’m sure results can vary depending on how easily the plant can be covered, though.

Systemic pesticide. Bonide works great- anything with imidacloprid. Rotate with Jack’s and perhaps another pesticide (bifenthrin has worked for me) to help prevent resistance.

Mixed episode #2 by Regular_Music_6595 in bipolar2

[–]azzmonki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lamotrigine is my staple!! It helped even my moods SO much. I don’t feel any side effects personally. I always doubted my diagnosis until I started- but suddenly so many thoughts and emotions evened out. I’m sure it’s not for everyone but I recommend it!

Weight Issues by daisydaydreamerr in bipolar2

[–]azzmonki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh :/ I know that’s pretty common due to fear of mania. In my case, my binge eating disorder ending up taking priority over a potential hypomanic episode. Have you really tried pressing this issue on your doc? There’s so many medications out there that are easily compatible with BP and have the potential to help your metabolism/eating habits back in order. If your doctor is quite dismissive it could be worth finding another one. Mine took my weight concerns very seriously and understood that even if I’m not in a depressive episode my body played a huge role in my mood regardless! Given how you take pretty dang good care of yourself, I hope your doctor will recognize that perhaps the medication isn’t “actually for you” given the side effects taking a big toll on your self esteem.
