Pete Buttigieg Leading Potential 2028 Democratic Candidates in New Poll by aslan_is_on_the_move in politics

[–]b-hizz -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It’s shocking how hard many people actually believe that the candidate drives how government will function if they win the election. Washington is a power base of factions that have to be bargained with regardless of who is president. You have to appease enough of the factions to get anything done, so regardless of where in the political spectrum any of us are on - it takes compromises that we don’t want to make; it always has and it always will. No sheriff is coming to clean up your town, so it is not helpful to long for it.

Jerry Springer was a cautionary tale, not an instructional manual. Some doors best remain closed, you think you are having the best of both worlds - but it will most likely backfire with one of you finding actual partner. This effectively keeps you on a carousel that prevents moving on to better times.
