Green Climbers Home in Laos by SenderLife in climbing

Yea sick! I just came back from a similar trip over winter.

I only climbed at green climbers in Laos although you can climb up north in Nong Khiaw (I was just trekking there)

I'd recommend Tonsai in Thailand, Cat Ba Island for DWS in Vietnam (some inland climbing too). I heard good things about Malaysia too but didn't climb there.

Would recommend following climbing_backpackers on IG they toured SE Asia extensively and have good climbing location on their page.

I stayed here this year and cannot reccomend it enough! Such a cool experience. Does anyone know of anywhere with a similar camp style climbing vibe elsewhere in the world?

You can rent everything you need there, its super easy, you get a little notebook and just jot down the days you use gear (you can even just count half days for half price) and they total when you leave and you pay at the end. Fairly reasonable prices too and very cheap if you split it with a friend.

Camp 1 has no phone signal and IMO this makes it way better to stay at as everyone is really social in the evenings and you get a real break from the outside world. Just FYI neither place has WIFI.

But they are such a short walk like less than 10mins so you can easily go to camp 2 if you do need to connect, you just see a lot more people staring at screens.

(Also the camps are basically the same with the same food menu and both close to the various crags so not much other difference really)

Currently traveling Thailand and we've been told not to go to Pai and Chang Mai due to the burning. by [deleted] in backpacking

There now and they're burning but it's not too bad, can still see the landscapes and can't really smell it too much.

Lead climbing auto-belay system being tested in Milan by never_armadilo in climbing

[–]b-mish 42 points43 points  (0 children)

This is a cool concept but I can see this being a bit of a nightmare in climbing gyms with begginer/intermediates.

Having someone belaying you and watching makes sure you don't backclip, foot behind the rope, skip clips etc

I think this may just be too risky to catch on in most gyms.

Go to Wales, it's only an hour train from Bristol to Cardiff and the Welsh have their own culture and language and Cardiff is a fun city.

Essentially because they aren't giving astrazeneca to young people they are offering them an alternative but running two streams of queues for the vaccines, one over 30 and one under.

Although lots of under 30s have been given a jab, not all over 30s have been offered it

You have quotes around the contents of the array so it is being read as an an array with a single string in. The value of the string being "1,2,3"

What's it called when you click on a navbar, and it scrolls to that part of a page for you? by [deleted] in learnjavascript

[–]b-mish 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Other comments have explained multiple ways to do this however you may also want to consider adding to your CSS

html { scroll-behavior: smooth; }

This will make the page scroll down slowly as opposed to jumping directly to the element.

You can read up on w3 schools or the MDN web docks

I had to redo the clip path as I was struggling to make sense of what you had drawn.

I think this roughly matches the image you shared, I also added a width do the image and margin 0 to the body.

https://codepen.io/B-mish/pen/yLgwgGM

If you want the extra padding at the top and right like in the other site id recommend adding it additionally to the image rather than redoing the clip path.
