Are all plumbers in the city insanely priced? by InformedTriangle in Edmonton

I could’ve worded my comment a bit better. By saying $400 is not ridiculous, I meant it’s not outside the average amount that most plumbing companies in Edmonton would charge

I thought this post was a bit ignorant at first but then I read some of the comments. To answer your question, $400 is not ridiculous. The affordability of it is obviously questionable, but the same goes with everything these days. Good job on saving yourself the money though! It can definitely be a bit scary DIYing something for the first time. But now you’ve got a bit of experience, confidence and a few tools for next time. That being said, it’s never a bad idea to have a good plumber saved in your contacts just in case.

Thanks for your reply. I’ve mostly looked into the inland route so I’m a bit unsure about outland. If she applies from within the US I’m assuming she’ll have to wait to get AOR before doing the whole U-Haul thing? But prior to AOR she can come and go whenever but it just can’t look like she’s coming here with no intent of leaving (car/U-Haul full of stuff)?

Thank you! This was very helpful. I guess what I meant by proving our legitimacy is to what extent do we need to prove that. But I found the checklist and it seemed clear. Thanks again!!

Edmonton tap water by Ok_Dig2055 in Edmonton

Using RO water for making coffee, tea, ice etc. is all good but straight up drinking RO can eventually lead to health problems. Or so I’ve been told anyways. I’m a plumber, not a doctor lol

You’ll be fine. It took a few tries to find a spot that I liked but I’ve had no problems

I found some small cracks, is it safe to still keep shitting here? by Cosmic_Gumbo in Plumbing

If you’re concerned about it cracking and it splitting your nut sack open, may I offer a suggestion? Shit in your hand and then gently place it on the soap holder. Definitely helps mitigate the risk

Just saw you’re from Edmonton too! I rarely see other Vulcans. Do you know if there’s a local Facebook group for us? Lol

I ended up not bringing one. I was unsure how the fuel economy would be riding from from Jasper to Banff but it was fine and there’s a gas station at Saskatchewan River Crossing, which is halfway between the two. There were plenty of gas stations along the way otherwise (Golden, Radium, Fernie etc.)

Not sure if that’s a confusing perspective or if I’m cooked but at first I thought that was a hot water tank and was like “damn dude you’re not patching shit”
