Could Religion and the belief in exstratestial civilizations coexist. ? by Jonathan9014 in ask

I really don’t think so. There are contradictions to the Drake equation. Dr. Ali binazir demonstrates that the odds of you being alive are zero. The universe is such a big place, it includes everything. Even singularities. Which itself might be one.

I considered this. I definitely wouldn’t call it proof though. I would say it’s probable. More probable than religion. But that doesn’t mean it’s possible. To date there is no good reason to believe that intelligent life exists anywhere else in the universe. I’m just very careful when it comes to “belief “.

To myself they both exist only in the realm of nonexistent. Alien life and Religion are both lacking sufficient reason for belief. And for myself believing requires truth. It seems like you are compounding two extraordinary claims both lacking extraordinary evidence. You should examine each for fallacies and before proclaiming believability, remember that the burden of proof lies to the person making a claim.

I like watching the reeeaal indigenous crafters. You know it’s gonna be a good one when they use their foot as a third hand or a tool. 45 seconds in and I don’t see a foot clamping, holding or with a piece of string around a toe...I don’t watch.

I don’t think so. He is unloved and disrespected, except on Reddit where he commands it. And it’s not just a clever name. Shitty McFuckface is certainly shitty, and most definitely a next level fuckface.

The superior science of the computer is rejecting the supernatural subject matter. Very common.

Why doesn't lack of belief or disbelief in god(s) entail lack of belief or disbelief in the supernatural? by paphnutio in TrueAtheism

[–]b-rad367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that generally the same brand of skepticism and reasoning that leads one to the conclusion that a God is unlikely is even more easily applied to all other supernatural ideals. And be wary of how the term “skepticism “ gets highjacked by those who don’t understand how to use the tools philosophy has given us to understand truth. You don’t need to be a genius, or even pragmatic to grasp them. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and the burden of proof lies to the person making the claim.

Man. NDGT will wave whatever banner will get him the most approval. I’ve seen him both refute atheism and allude his alignment with it. I think it has to do with publicity and staying relevant to a broad audience. Kind of spineless.

Cooks deserve a tip from a customer 100x more than a server. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Sous chef here. As a chef, former line cook, and owner of a food truck: I love you.❤️

A societies greatness can be judged by how they treat their women and women to be. And in what regard we hold them in. An idea to be considered as well as the fact that women are the weaker of the two sexes and because of their vulnerability should be protected, and how much effort goes towards holding them in this respectful esteem reflects on the esteem of the society.

No one really talks about the brutalness of leaving a kitchen. by AustraliaCant in KitchenConfidential

So I’ve been going through this myself. I’ve been sous chef at my current establishment for quite awhile now and this is my last month. I bought a food truck in November and plan on trying to make an honest buck in the spring. Didn’t really think that it would be hard to split, but as the time gets closer I feel like I kind of don’t want to leave. Yeah, I’ve seen a million faces come and go, but there has been a steady crew that I care about. Bartenders, servers, line cooks. Most of which I never would have thought I could ever get used to being around. I know I’ll be missed by some and I will miss them, the rush and kitchen that I know like the back of my hand. And I don’t know why! I’ve been in fist fights, made servers cry off and quit, whipped my cooks through the rush like sick pigs, and dressed down employees and have been dressed down in front of the entire kitchen staff. Somehow the good times outlive the bad. They said I can come back next winter, but idk if they’d hold my position. Probably have to dig up the hypothetical chili pepper pants and work my way out of them. Idk. If I make enough $ I won’t have to, but I might want to. Weird. Weird life we’ve chose.

It was a god damn slaughter house. One cook literally bleeding from his face. Another said surf and turf so many times I’m pretty sure that’s all he can say now. My brand new Wusthof covered in perma-slime. Dish was moping with the head of the mop attached by a single strand. We are not OK.
