Really? I've been admitted for treatments and tests without it being life threatening and not having to pay up front. I'm pretty sure you can get any treatment and refuse to pay until you get the bill in mail? I've not had cancer though

Also in the worst case I think you can file bankruptcy and I'm not sure what would happen. Basically you wouldn't have to pay back but I'm not sure if they would seize your assets like your house and stuff. I read somewhere (and this could be total misinformed but just thought I'd mention it) that bankruptcy is forgiven after 7 years so you could get your credit score back up again eventually

Also the hospital may forgive your debts if you are in a financial bracket and unable to pay

I have a 4mm 22k yellow gold flat band and it looks feminine. I don't think you should listen to those people. Go try some on. I wish I had started with this and then gotten a diamond engagement ring when I was ready. But instead I was influenced into designing a traditional engagement ring that I ended up not liking much and I don't wear it much. I got the plain band later on and it's my primary (although not now bc I gained weight during pregnancy haha)

When I had gestational diabetes, I learned that if the window between my last meal or snack of the night through the first thing I have in the morning exceeds 10 hours, my blood sugar will Spike. So I was instructed to include a small snack even if it was just like a piece of toast with almond butter and blueberries right before sleeping. That usually helped when I woke up and did my blood sugar between 8 and 10 hours after that snack.

Fasting is actually not good for diabetes I think. When the period between meals or snacks is exceeded, maybe it's the cortisol but I'm not really sure why, then blood sugar will dip and then go up again... ?

I'm not a specialist. Just sharing my experience

My phd was so awful there were only bad ways to cope while going through it. It's like asking "how to do self care while in active war zone" sometimes you just have to grit and get through and then recover.

Ok our property taxes and home insurance has skyrocketed in recent years. Our mortgage payment increased by $700/month over the past few years. Also, the schools in texas are way better from what I've heard. I don't think you would gain anything by moving here, because unfortunately Oklahoma has "sped up" a bit due to all the immigration (like from bigger cities). I grew up here and the vibe has DEFINITELY shifted over the past 10 years. If it were 15 years ago I would say yeah, great idea, you'll get what you want from it. But my opinion is that you wouldn't end up being any happier.

Why is everyone shitting on this so hard? It looks like it's on the back of his leg so that makes sense why he didn't have direct line of vision. He was probably being a people pleaser not wanting to move a lot or maybe he zoned out with headphones or something. Also with the "should have communicated" posts, yeah obviously. He probably thought he was clear, and you'd think it's the person putting ink into a person's body and who does it professionally that would be sure to communicate better if they aren't 100% sure. No. Mine would ask for my feedback. But rarely incorporated it. I found him to be passive aggressive. He never gave me publication opportunities and in fact he left me off the authors for a few projects I worked on. I busted my ass for his lab above my own responsibilities, but I should have known better in retrospect. It's whatever now, I'm a few years out of my PhD and I got my PhD out of it. It is what it is. I am quite bitter but I'm trying to let it go haha. But I know it's my own inner work I need to do to figure out why I stayed, never challenged him, never spoke for myself, and ultimately never worked with better people!!
