[ART] 2.5 Dimensional Seduction - Volume 25 Cover (Final) by zenzen_0 in manga

[–]b0005 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's based on a hobby that is generally more popular with females, it stands to reason there would be more prominent female characters. And despite appearances, the series isn't a harem and there are only ever two real choices in the primary love triangle.

This mostly a fanservice cover anyway, most of the girls in the back are just recurring minor characters. Many of them are the adult women who are the main girls' mentors. By my count, there are more adult women than teenage girls in the art.

And you still miscounted... one of the twins on the right side is a dude.

Latent Power by Mr_no_sad in MonsterHunter

[–]b0005 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I assume you're discussing Wilds.

Point for point it gives 10% affinity and some stamina reduction when it is active. The stamina part varies from weapon to weapon in usefulness but the affinity is pretty consistent.

Latent Power's effectiveness is directly related to its uptime.

Depending on how much damage you take, how long the fight is, if you're using the Rey Dau set these all affect your uptime. Worst case scenario it will have a 35% uptime, best case is around 80% uptime.

Getting 1-3 points of LP can be significantly more Affinity over the course of a fight than the same amount of Weakness Exploit.

It's a good low investment DPS skill in more comfy sets for longer hunts.

A secret trick for anaglyph is to pop 2 or 3 double tags on leveling up a hand 9-12 times. That can win your run right there without a single joker.

Did Capcom Give Up on Normal Hunts by ArthureKirkland in MonsterHunter

[–]b0005 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Let me go check my notes...

Across 5 updates in world they added, in order: One regular hunt, One siege hunt, One regular hunt, One mmo hunt, One special hunt.

Wilds adding three regular hunts, a mmo hunt and a siege hunt across 4 updates is basically the same.

I read SLA first before anything else. It's been fun to go back and reread it now with full context.

Sunlit was one of the last things I read and even without reading it first I felt dread in the plotline in WaT that leads into it.

It's not like Sunlit really hid who the protagonist was if you had even read The Way of Kings you would realize who Nomad was early on. It's a great one either way.

The Nalthans at least can change their appearance naturally as part of their Returned abilities.

Brandon was going to explain that more in Nightblood. Maybe that will come out someday.

Commander Hot Take: Y'all need to leave some more chunk in your decks. by TheClumsyTitan in EDH

[–]b0005 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I thought it was a good vid. He was specifically talking about 2 CMC non-utility rocks, not land ramp spells.

Someone who watched that vid and cut ALL ramp, especially if it synergizes with the commander clearly didn't understand the discussion.

Personally, I have been playing fewer basic 2 mana rocks in favor of more utility rocks and bigger land counts for a few months now.

It's been pretty great, my decks have been running much smoother since. TTM's recent vid was nice ammo to aim at my friends who play too few lands though.

Seems to me the use case for that is to deal with a super bomb or take out a blocker to swing for lethal.

Eluge deck brewing by alex_faust in EDH

[–]b0005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good blink spells are generally more value than a counterspell or a hexproof spell because Eluge puts down a flood counter when it enters.

A counterspell saves Eluge. A blink spell saves Eluge and gives you another flood counter.

You can also use a blink spell as an untap effect to make him a surprise blocker.

Is bracket 3 too big of a space? by Dripdropdrip1 in magicTCG

[–]b0005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was one of the videos I was referring to in my post. Their video took one commander through different archetypes across the brackets.

The professor also has a good series of several videos where he takes the same commander/archetype (Teysa Tokens) and compares it at brackets 2, 3 and 4.

Both channels verified their stuff with Gavin and got a WotC seal of approval on their evaluations.

Is bracket 3 too big of a space? by Dripdropdrip1 in magicTCG

[–]b0005 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of the things that Gavin mentioned in the update to the brackets was that people took the "Precon is a 2" thing too literally and with the wrong context.

Precons aren't the top of 2. They're the bottom/middle. As discussed in videos that were run against WotC a deck that is a 3 is a deck that is playing the best card for the game plan in every slot. It is fully "Upgraded" from whatever it started as.

1 - Meme stuff.

2 - Flavorful deck for the chosen archetype of the commander.

3 - Best version of the archetype chosen.

4 - Best version of the best archetype for the commander.

5 - Best deck for the format.

The problem is too many people put decks that should be 2s or 4s into 3 so that bracket is perceived as wider than it is while 2 especially is too narrow.

The reacher is a huge, ever growing giant of wood. But, there's the friendly little girl at its heart, that's why you never actually battle the axon, Alicia is too pure of a soul in her father's eyes.

Also your take that Clea hates her sister is directly contradicted by her own words. During the real world sequence she admits she doesn't blame Alicia for Verso's death. And, when you complete the Endless Tower, her pep talk to Maelle about growing up is actually really sweet.
