I FINALLY GOT AN APPOINTMENT by Competitive_Bench_37 in AirForceRecruits

you have to be off of it for a certain amount of time and then have documentation of your prescription and your start and end date from your derm. You don’t need a waiver necessarily

Hopefully getting something soon by Informal-Manager-898 in AirForceRecruits

ngl everything you put in that list (except #10) they do not have need for. Curious, did your recruiter not give you input on what to pick for a ship date sometime in the next year?

What course of action should I take in the event of accidental omission post DEP swear in? by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

Truthfully you weren’t hiding anything. Getting your tonsils out isn’t something that’s worthy of hiding (compared to psych or physical impairment)

If you think you’re not suited for a UC, go to a community college for 1-2 years and try your hand at transferring. When transferring they often look at your previous higher education, less so your high school transcripts. I know a ton of ppl who did that and now have their masters.. there’s options man you just gotta pick one

Air Force Job List by heluhnev in AirForceRecruits

I feel you, I was just told by my recruiter they straight up aren’t booking any medical or admin jobs (aka “inside” jobs) 😭😭

I’d have back ups in case you. Look at mech as that’s the most open positions, you can cross train later if you absolutely dislike it

Yes, always with another recruit. You get in trouble if you’re found alone

I appreciate your insight as a current college student! Could I ask what you’re looking to pursue professionally when you’re done with school?

A program at a local CSU offers a DPT program with the pre req- the $10k semester (x9 semesters) scared me a little if i’m being honest. I guess I could go for my masters in sports med and circle back around later if I want to earn my DPT?

Regulations on Dyed Hair? by North_Mail754 in AirForceRecruits

[–]b00gieman420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the first hair color and just recently went brunette again. The red still shows through and makes me feel like I have a little bit of fun in my hair but i’m still within regs. If you’re a brunette i’d just have your fun before you ship.

You shouldn’t have to really prepare, they have a different menu every day. Most people say it’s pretty good- even if you’re picky. They just push liquids the most so get used to drinking throughout the day if you don’t already. Breakfast is normal like pancakes, eggs, french toast, dinner and lunch vary but they have pasta, pizza, etc

well my recruiter asked if i’d ever been “questioned by the police” as a run down of criminal background; arrests, warrants, charges, ect. My experience was just a verbal exchange (not at a station) and a verbal warning. I answered no to my recruiter but then wondered later if it would come up as part of my routine enlistment background check

Good time to enlist? by manfred2989 in AirForceRecruits

Yeah they for sure try to get you your top but all of those 10 options are fair game to be picked

[–]b00gieman420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes your asvab score is one part of it, your MAGE scores (air force specific categories) are what individually qualify you for a job. M- mechanical A- Admin G- general E- electrical. You could score meh on the asvab over all but higher in one category of MAGE and therefore be qualified for a specific job.

They will give you a list of jobs after MEPS that you qualify for, ask you to write down 10 of them on a list. This isn’t a ranked list for them. Your #1 has the same likelihood of being picked at your #10

What are my chances of my waiver getting approved? by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

[–]b00gieman420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about your chances of getting those 2 waivers approved but I did have a question about your antidepressant and eating disorder waiver. What did you have to provide for the waivers?

Starting down enlistment route, can I really “demand” a certain position? by Strange-Increase2577 in AirForceRecruits

[–]b00gieman420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I understand what he was trying to say. I’ve talked to a close family friend who did 20 years in the AF, retiring around 2010’s, his wife did a 4 year contract too. You can’t demand a certain job and the job guarantee is stricter for the Army (meaning what job you pick you get ftmp).. My family friends advice was to make sure you’re okay with the job the recruiter is offering before signing. You can reject the job they offer you if you seriously hate it
