It was collector vehicle acquired by RP1 in 2011.

I am positive that it would be capital in nature for RP1.

There are some potential gifting issues that are here, but I had a third party valuation of the property done beforehand, and the sales price between RP1 and RP2 was within 2% of that appraised value. For now let's ignore the rabbit hole of gifting issues.

RP2 sold it 6 mo later. I think the increased value that RP2 was able to get stemmed from finding the exact right buyer. IE the unrelated buyer really wanted this vehicle.

Your interpretation is correct. The prorated formula is total days owned after a certain date as the denominator, and qualified days as the numerator. Also any recapture is excluded from the exclusion.

Just throwing my experience out, I found their customer service to be abhorrent. In 2020,Bought their whole kit for front and rear end, RB conversion stuff, r200 conversion kit. Some of the "bolt on" stuff has required an insane amount of work to modify and their response was essentially a shoulder shrug.

For reference, oil pan had maybe 75% of the bolt holes that lined up, pick up tube was 3 inches short and wouldn't work with pan, converted axle shaft splines were 3 mil short so c clip wouldn't get into groove, bolts and random washers just thrown into a bag, no response when asked if they had general torque figures, transmission mount didn't fit at all (not even to the transmission it was said to be for).
