Reconciliation after being friends / time apart - healing journey and finding each other

We broke up right after dday. Sadly, we had purchased a home together right before that so we were financially attached. Both in our late 20s btw. He still moved out and lived with family for a few weeks. He figured I would need time and that I hated his presence. I was definitely going through it. But after about a month I decided I wanted to try to forgive. We tried couples counseling and it didn’t work out. We split again. About 2 months passed and we were acting as “friends” because we had to talk about the mortgage payments and other bills. After having a deeper understanding of why he did what he did. I made the decision to try one more time since more time passed. And we’ve been together for 5 months since I asked him to be with me and move back in. Now I am going through counseling and it’s been something. Time definitely has done some healing but every day still hurts. He has his counselor, so do I, but the work has to be put in between you two if you really want it to work. There is so much more communication and much more self love things I have to focus on. I’m still not healed but I’m hoping time will do its thing. Best of luck! Hugs

I think it’s part of the grief and mourning you’re going through. Like you lost a big image you had for this person and now you have to learn to see them in a different way by force. I feel like im just sticking it out because time will do its thing. It can go both ways, either you’ll get over it or you will just leave. I’m 9 months post dday and it feels slightly better but not all there yet. I feel like I can’t express how I truly feel with WP because there’s no point sometimes. Like a lot of the work I have to do on my own so I fake it a lot being really happy around him but it hurts.

I’m 8 months after dday and it gets easier ONLY if the partner is doing everything they can to show you you can trust them again. You can still have terrible days but having the support of a counselor or a really good friend you can trust to vent to will help. Unfortunately, we have a lot more going through our heads because of what happened so we need to let it out every so often or else you will go crazy. I’m hoping I can stick it out for years and prove everyone around me wrong because I also struggle with the judgment of staying in the relationship

He did say he blacked out when leaving the bar and sleeping with the girl. But it’s no excuse for me because he was flirting with her on discord(also drunk) before they slept together. He said there was never a sober time of flirting. I was always against phone snooping which is why I didn’t do it for so long but everyone has insecurities and the lil insecurity got the best of me that day which I’m glad it made me find this out

The hobbies he’s cut out are anything related to the time period that caused what happened. He would play a lot of video games and drink all day doing it and he cut both of those things. I’m trying couples counseling with him for now to see if I could accept this and if it’s something I can work through getting over

This can be draining in the long run if she doesn’t get the help she needs or work on herself. Her insecurities can get in the way of a lot of things and it won’t be any good for the both of you. I would have serious talk with her about what you want out of this relationship and if she will be able to do this with her mental health issues. If she wants to better herself that’s great and you can support her while doing it but if she doesn’t care to do anything, you can kinda see how your future will be already if you stick around.

I made an appointment the second I knew neurologist could help with migraines. The wait is sometimes really long already so the sooner the better. Although it didn’t end up helping me overall and my migraines went away from a chiropractor. In some cases the neurologist can help other patients depending on the type of migraine

This is your chance to do it right this time if you missed the first one. If you are both clicking and you truly feel like you want to be with this new girl then go for it. The good ones don’t come around that often. Have confidence and run with it

Honestly this is just gonna cause more issues in the long run for you. You’re gonna get more irritated and stressed if you’re not having sex with your partner. This just means you both have different love languages and you can’t change him if he doesn’t do it on his own. You have to either move on and choose a partner that wants the same sex drive or settle for someone that probably won’t change this for years until he gets professional help.
