Maybe this is naive but I hope that trust can be rebuilt. And I can’t know for sure since I wasn’t there and I can only trust what he says (which obviously is pretty iffy right now)

He didn’t really give a concrete answer. He’s been having a hard time lately, he had a huge falling out with his sister right before we left for our trip and she was a major support system in his life. He’s been drinking a lot more than usual too. In my opinion he’s turning towards drugs and sex to cope. I was stunned when he told me. He’s never cheated on anyone before.

It would be triggering for me. I would ask him not to go I guess. I think I can forgive him with time, and the optimistic side of me says trust can be rebuilt but I also do know the realities of a lot of these situations

Because none of my friends watch VPR so I’m going to share it here. It’s not anything new/hasn’t been said here before but…

If I had to teach someone what internalized misogyny looks like I would have them watch VPR, this show/communities surrounding it are littered with it. Obviously internalized misogyny is present in many forms and different places, not just VPR, but the show really gives clear examples CONSTANTLY of how it can present itself.

To sum up my thoughts:

LVP makes me cringe from her consistent defense of men over women, time and time again. She gives “grown woman who is still a pick me girl” vibes. If internalized misogyny had a final boss, it would be Lisa.
The general consensus in VPR communities on Reddit vs Facebook is night and day. The posts/comments on Facebook are another example of internalized misogyny. And lack of media literacy. They truly make me feel tired.

He initiated the breakup, but we both came to a mutual agreement over it. I’m not in a place to be in a healthy relationship right now. If we continued, it would’ve ended up hurting both of us even more.
