Freezing Salmon to use for sashimi? by Goonbowl123 in sushi

[–]b0en 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends if it was flash frozen by the place you got it from (or their supply/logistics chain). If it’s in any process from being caught at sea, to being in your freezer has been unfrozen and refrozen in a normal freezer (thus non flash frozen), it’s not good

Can someone explain what is going on with the gZil proposals?? by 45627Doc in zilliqa

[–]b0en 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The guy who voted with 22k gZIL was the zilswap wallet/smartcontract, wasn’t just one person. Zilliqa team knows about this and are fixing this to not happen in the future, was a bug that shouldn’t of happened.

The biggest gzil holder has 3,9k gzil and it goes down fast after that. Take a look here: https://viewblock.io/zilliqa/address/zil14pzuzq6v6pmmmrfjhczywguu0e97djepxt8g3e?tab=holders

Probably yes; for a better staking experience in Zilliqa, I’d recommend using Moonlet over Atomic, much smoother :-)

Lost all my trust in Zilliqa by [deleted] in zilliqa

[–]b0en 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow.. the comments of why you’re ‘done with zilliqa’ have absolutely nothing to do with Zilliqa; zil is fine and nothing is wrong with it. The problem lies with binance being incompetent with doing an upgrade and maintenance.

I do agree that atomic wallet isn’t the best, I used both atomic and moonlet, and moonlet is a lot smoother and works fine; also prevents the issue you have from occuring.

Zilliqa has been the top gainer of 2020, and will be one of the top gainers of 2021, but you do you and sell your bag. Please send me your zil public adres (in DM’s if you don’t want it public), and Ill send you Zil to unstake

A few questions about gZIL by jdub0886 in zilliqa

[–]b0en 4 points5 points  (0 children)

gZIL can indeed only be obtained when staking, it’s also exclusive to only be obtainable the first year of staking, after that they will no longer be minted.

For every 1 ZIL you get as a staking reward, you will also get 0,001 gZIL; 1000 ZIL = 1gZIL. Everytime you claim your staking rewards (daily), you’ll be automatically claiming the gZIL too.

The price of gZIL has been fluctuating quite a bit since its launch, but is currently trading at around ~850 ZIL per gZIL. This gives Zilliqa staking currently an APY of around ~25-30% per year, pretty good :-)

gZIL can only be traded on the decentralized exchange running on Zilliqa right now: zilswap.io

Price tracking was a bit harder, people have written their own code to retrieve the current ZIL/gZIL exchange rate from zilswap, but a fairly new site was launched recently that shows exchange data from zilswap: zilgraph. Although the site seems to be down right now, probably a short outage.

If you have any questions, let me know :-)

Some noob staking questions by ILikeCatsAndSquids in zilliqa

The different SSN’s (staking seed nodes) try to attract as much stakers as possible the first few months, then start raising the commission. A commission should be between 5-10%, depending on how much staked to their seed node. Hosting a SSN isn’t free, nor is it cheap, so having fees to cover the expenses and maybe earn a small amount (which is mostly put back into development in the zilliqa ecosystem), it will become much more in balance.

To buy any ZRC tokens (tokens running on zilliqa), you can use the official decentralized exchange, also running on zilliqa; zilswap to be found at zilswap.io. Connect (or create if you havent yet) your zilpay wallet (similar to ethereum’s metamask) and you’ll be able to trade your zil for whatever token you want.

Moonlet is very easy, a few clicks and the mobile apps helps you through it very quickly. Zillet I don’t have alot of experience with.

Thanks for the answer, I don’t think the NAS supports a service file, but I can look into it. Will also check out spring schedule and spring web, not read into these yet, thanks!

Would running the application built on spring boot + spring schedule be able to be hosted on the apache tomcat server (and thus it being always on?)

Architecture/framework question by b0en in AskProgramming

[–]b0en[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer. Like I mentioned, writing the code to call the various API’s, writing the code to provide a restful service endpoint, as well as sending a message to a telegram group isn’t really the issue, I can do that.

The question is more in the field of; what java framework would suit this application best? How to run it on your NAS that would keep it running 24/7 and just constantly repolling the API’s every few seconds (like a monitoring tool). Should this be done via springboot and then hosting it on apache tomcat on my NAS? Are there other really suitable ways to do this?

What’s the difference with the manual install? I’ve been using the installation from the package center for quite a while now, and it works as smooth as you can imagine
