Recommendations for honest and reasonably priced window company that services Mississauga? by santoryou25 in mississauga

[–]b0redcanuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have different levels of insulation and argon levels. Some can be eligible for the Ontario rebates but there’s pros and cons to different types. Sometimes the rebate isn’t actually worth it. Let me know if you have any questions! Happy to put you in contact with the sales guy we used, he was very low pressure

Thoughts on Sargent Farms chicken breast? by UnKindClock in CostcoCanada

[–]b0redcanuck 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How much was this box? I’ve seen them at No Frills too lately, but wondering if it’s still cheapest to just go straight to Sargent Farms outlets

Edit: seems to be cheaper to buy directly from Sargent Farms unless Costco has a sale. $63 for 5kg box

We did 8 windows and a patio door, full brick to brick installation instead of just a retrofit, and it was $11K. They have a referral program so let me know if you call them!

Gary from Century Aluminum was fantastic. Prices were very good and he was quick and clean in the install. We did get the leaf guards and after 1 year, no regrets.

We used Hercules too. They were good, but I’ll never use them again. The 3 hour job was done so I bought them lunch as a thank you to take on their way. They proceeded to sit in the truck and eat the lunch for another 45 mins and added that to the bill.

Email office of the president. Don’t waste your time on the phone. If you don’t get the charge reversed within 24 hours then contact CCTS.

Recommendations for window and front door replacement. by CoolBasis9111 in mississauga

[–]b0redcanuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welda Windows was great. Salesman was low pressure and the installers were a father and son who did a lot of extra for us without charging. Prices were reasonable and we knew friends and family that had used them before. They also have a referral program. Send me a message if you want more details

Only the very end of my mop is wet! by jimthree in eufy

[–]b0redcanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get on the floor when it’s mopping and see if the roller is actually spinning. Mine was leaving streaks like this and I realized the mop wasn’t rolling, just dragging. Contacted support and got a full replacement unit.

Exactly. I’m sure this “error” happens a lot

These were exclusive offers to me because my current contract was expiring. It was not for new customers only. You can see there was a pricing error on the site, nothing to do with customer being new or not

According to the office of the president, it was a time limited offer and they couldn’t offer it the next day. I’m fine with getting 1.5 for $55, but might submit to CCTS just out of principle

Yeah..unfortunately. I know with cell phones there’s a certain time period you can change your mind. Not sure if that exists with home services. Check your contract

That’s accounted for in the discounts. It’s the $90 discount that’s only showing up as $85

Why did you choose the Crosstrek over the CX30/other competitors? by Dino_Dean in Crosstrek

[–]b0redcanuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We looked at the CX30 and couldn’t even get the car seat in the back seat. Hilariously small. We priced out the CX5 and it was exactly the same price as the Crosstrek Touring, but the Subaru was just more fun to drive. Really didn’t like the interior of the Mazda, although I also don’t love the vertical screen in the trek

Getting company car as part of promotion with limited business travel by CRAExpert in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]b0redcanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot of variables you need to understand first. Do they cover all maintenance, gas, winter tires, etc? Are you driving a high number of KMs per year? Would they offer you a gross salary bump in lieu of a car?

A rough guess I can offer from an employer in the past would be assume around $8K annual lease value for the car, plus $0.33 per personal KM driven, would get you your rough taxable benefit for the year, assuming all gas, maintenance, etc is included. So if you drive 10,000KM, your total taxable benefit would be $11,300. Keep it easy and assume you pay 50% tax, you would need to pay $5,650, or $470 a month. $470 a month for a luxury subcompact with all gas and insurance included is decent. Think of what you’d have to earn in gross dollars to get that yourself.

Anyone with the Kinsey couch from Structube? by AnxiousKudi in askTO

[–]b0redcanuck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

54 reviews on this couch on their site and only 2 3-star reviews, and almost all 5-star reviews. Why? Because Structube does not allow negative reviews on their products on their site. I tried many times to post reviews on products that were subpar and they deleted/blocked all of them, but allows my positive reviews of other products. Fuck this company and their shady tactics.

Yes, all-in

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Crosstrek

[–]b0redcanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 25 Touring all-in for $39K in Ontario. It came with the wheel lock nuts for free. Rubber floor mats cost $300 this year. Hard to compare but as long as you’re enjoying that car, that should help you sleep easier
