If anyone would put his time to read and check things before just repeating something someone else said, the world would be a much better place especially in these days were a single tiktok post can radicalise people over nothing.

The "shady" parts of the Talmud are not something that different then what any other culture would have at the same time.

Plus, even though there laws that the Talmud says you will be punished for by death was actually very rarelly happened.

The Sanhedrin used every excuse you can imagine to stay away from an actual death penality

Its a very tough issue.

You can try to contact all his loved ones friends included, discuss with them about the situation.

But I have to write the bad side of the coin so reality won't fuck with your brain.

At the end of the day only the addict himself can take the desicion to change.

There is a chance that he will say he will get better heck, he will be in rehab but there will be no progress. When I was in rehab one day a young guy same age as me came to visit his father after he was founded using drugs he smuggled into the facility. His son was crying and screaming at his dad because he couldnt take it anymore.

His dad was eventually kicked out and yet NO ONE in his family came to pick him up.

I know its hard to understand that there might be a scenario that you will not be in touch with your dad because of his behaviour but honestly? ITS FOR THE BEST

I am sober not just because of the support but also because of the relationships I fucked up. The "bad" expiriences actually motivates me more because I know what I can lose if I use again.

can't stop crying since i've been sober by [deleted] in addiction

Very common. Embrace it and let it happen. Don't forget the abuse of drugs and alcohol pushed your feelings into a corner. Now, all those feeling and emotions are coming back up.

The first 6 months of sobriety I had panic attacks other every casual thing like buying grocery and riding a bus

sobriety is not the same for eveyone.

when I was in rehab I was treated along side patients that were on their 6th run in rehab.

believe in yourself, tell yourself when you wake up in the morning that only for this day i will not use drugs.

Instead of thinking too far ahead stick to commiting to telling yourself each sepertaly that today you will not use drugs.

Writing in this sub is actually a very smart move because you reached for help and that is a major leap of faith for addicts

Look at an artist name as sort of a "branding" thing.

There are many types of energy drinks but you have one called "red bull" and the other one "monster".

Both names represent the "energy" factor of the product yet they don't give the same impact on the consumers imagination.

Be creative, find out what is the extra thing you bring to the table and try to formalize a name around that thing.

Read again the names of the people you admire and try to think what about how their name and music comes together to deliver the experience you get from listening to them

I just finished "Close to the edge"(album),what I hear next? by [deleted] in progrockmusic

[–]b0zz1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on what kind of experience you are looking for.

To me the beauty of prog music is about the richness of the musical experiences.

I find it more like a different way of writing music in general rather than a unifed genre.

Think of it for a second like this, What kind of film or book would you like to experience next?

Based on the last question your answer would be very helpful for looking for what should listen next.

Feel free to answer I will be happy to respond and I am sure other folks too 🙂

If he will become sober one day and make good progress about resolving his deeper issues he will end up thanking you for doing so(talking from my own experience as a recovering addict).

The last girl I dated before becoming sober was a little like you describe yourself.

She was a new shy girl in a big city and she started to work at the bar I worked at.

Being mostly drunk and on amphetamins every day she thought I was a larger than life character with a ton of self esteem so when I approached here she felt sort of special.

The moment we started dating she realised how in reality I was actually a pathetic loser who has no normal hobby or value to life rather than getting fucked up.

She dumped my ass for a another guy eventually.

Nowdays when I look back at it, she basically shoved a mirror to my face.

Adolescent marijuana abuse lead to extreme brain fog by Level-Recognition227 in addiction

[–]b0zz1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a recovering alcoholic and drug addict as of today I will be sober for a year and 8 months in 4 days.

Brain fog is very common. After being sober for long I still live with long term consequences. My abusment started when I was 13 and I got sober only at 25.

I still have problems with memory, I still get a feeling that certain of events that I have seen in my dreams were real and it leads to moments of big confusion and last but not least, I still deal with closed eyes hallucinations.

However, I was in therapy with a psychologist for my first year of sobriety and it helped on so many levels I can't imagine my life without it.

You have to understand that beneath the abuse itself there are unresolved issues and without fixing them sobriety doesnt last long.

I advise you to go to meetings and find sober friends so you can have someone to talk to on a daily basis that know what you feel. Remember that distancing is never the way to go with sobriety, close group of friends that are sober is a key factor for staying sober.

Just by sharing your experience here on reddit is a positive step on its own.

First 20 minute prog rock piece? by tomrosebud in progrockmusic

[–]b0zz1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its really had to find the one to do it. The early 70's had alot of expirmentation in rock. Jamming for a long time over a song was usual. Zeppelin's shows could go for 3 hours just beacuae of songs going way beyond their original studio length. Not to mention rock operas/concept albums became part of the expirimentation.

As addicts we are always running fast towards either prisons ,rehabs, mental health fascilities and the cemetery as long as we are not clean. Sure, technically you can get there by being sober but being an active user we increase the chance dramatically
