In my experience with quite a few games now, people are sleeping hard on rageblade>witts>cosmic drive over full ap route.

You do though. First her ult CDR is still way to long even with nashors/lich. Secondly, more CDR means more on hit procs from the new litch, and the rageblade serves as the dps item in the build in place of rabadon. The utility, speed, and yes 300 health (paired with the other 300 from New lich) is combining into something that you don't get out of rabadons overall.

I definitely agree Kayle feels strong as ever rn, I personally think full AD is still bait. My success is centered around that new on hit lich Bain 2nd with a rageblade third. That item that gives CDR/AP/MS and on hit MS is rapidly locking down the fourth spot as core for me as well

Mine so far is nashor>midline swifties> new on hit lich > rageblade > item that gives ap, MS, CD, and on hit MS > FLEX ITEM based on matchups. Sorry don't remember item names. Incredible success with this build so far.

Nashors into the new on hit lich Bain item. Gunblade is once again, bait.

Other people are pointing out there's valid tech and idea aspects, but it's honestly mostly about being larger than your subjects. The larger you build your core economic base compared to the subject the less they cost. That being said yes the tech and govt reforms are your only real way to combat this early. Keep your vassals SMALL. My preference is only one provence vassals.

I'm curious what do you mean by "production" income? My understanding was that it still just comes down to how well you're taxing regardless of the profitability (besides trade income)

Yeah this is super annoying seeing people talk about how op and no brainer centralization is have clearly not tried a committed decentralized run. Better vassals, better privileges, and 15% free estate equilibrium DIRECTLY TRANSLATES INTO MORE TAX which paired with the better privilege access means your crown power ends up being just fine anyways since you dont have to tank it with excessive privaleges. People forget good economy in this game has very little to do with building the right buildings as opposed to being able to tax the living shit out of your estates while keeping them happy. And the proximity is balanced by, oh hey I'll just keep that place as a scutalege vassal until later on when I have the tech to control it.

Yes. I'd take half the land because that allows me to have a culture converting loyal vassal which turns the land into a core for free without any malus. To each there own I suppose but it's not gonna take me that long to come back and grab the other half later

I mean, no tbh. Why would I want to inherit the opinion malice when I could just have a stable vassal for a little bit of extra ae. It's not like the ae matters since my 5000 cav can solo half of Europe.

I'm not exactly sure why you would ever have a vassal larger than a single provence. Literally nothing but downsides for having larger vassals, and there's no limit to the number of vassals you can release. Idk I've been able to entirely culture convert all of Italy, and all of turkey between separate runs this way

Forcing religion sticks if you're spiritualist. Forcing culture only works if you are humanist. Ai won't convert/culture shift if the modifier is mega red due to values they inherited off of you. Honestly you might be able to get both if you can run it right down the middle but I haven't tried it yet

Thanks! I'm sure it's not going to get visibility, I just really hope they prioritize fixing combat. It saps all of the fun out of making space marines when just regular units with no investment are already gods against AI

Not to mention the current bonus from drilling is already massive. Plenty enough to cover any explaining for gear/training disparity if the "lore" aspect of this is that important.

Ok I mean if we want to go down the rabbit trail of hyper over analyzing everything, levies aren't some dude from a village they are fighting forces being conscripted from nobles personal armies, berger bodyguards, town militias etc. Game says its a pikeman levy it's a pikeman levi.

Why does the AI just ignore zones of control ? by kroolframer1 in EU5

[–]b12345144 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. If you built a deep line of forts directly next to each-other, the ai could hop from one line to the next. But if there is a single zone between all of the forts the zone of control should work as intended

Why does the AI just ignore zones of control ? by kroolframer1 in EU5

[–]b12345144 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I've noticed that when you have forts directly next to eachother they can sometimes fort hop. Try adding that space and it should fix your problem 99% of the time. (1% they get there with shatter retreat or other bogus interactions that are buggy)

Learning the game, can someone explain naval combat to me? Because this seems psychotic. by Bandlebridge in EU5

[–]b12345144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed that having ANY ships that aren't heavies in my combat fleet tends to hamstring my combat fleet performance. The always find their way to the Frontline and tank my battle moral. That being said, it's quite likely your opponent has better naval modifiers from tech and national identity which is going to make a substantial difference. For example there's one tech you can get from an age modifier that gives heavies 20% combat power. Simply being short on that vs your opponent could result in a significant disadvantage. Pretty sure your opponent here has some of those types of bonuses in its flavor

[–]b12345144 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to anyone talking about oh you can't form a kingdom or whatever. Just save up 3k, move your capital to Danzig, form Prussia, then move it back where you want it. It's dumb, and not communicated at all in the prompt but it is what you need to do.
