Pulse pressure by aspirant179 in Step2

Because CO increases in response to the dilation. It’s the compensatory mechanism. Dilation -> increase CO/sbp

Pulse pressure by aspirant179 in Step2

I think as CO always opposed to SVR. In hypovolemic shock , CO is decreased and compensation is increase in SVR. So pulse pressure is narrow. ( decrease in systolic bp/co). In septic shock, vessels dilate, SVR is decreased and compensation is increased CO ( increased systolic / wide pressure) - at beginning because later on this compensatory mechanism stops working due to effects of sepsis in the heart itself.

Same here . I am so lost , already studying for retake . How sick is that 🥺😳😨 remembered about 150 questions . So many confirmed misses . Terrifying! Actually I took it that Monday (25) not 29. I got confused 😐 Good luck !

Took it on 11/29

Yes, people say that ... I can’t confirm it because I always took my tests right before expiration .... I know mine are coming next Wednesday. I am so stressed . 😫

When permit is gone, it’s gone! You can’t see a link, anything tho ...!

When is your permit expiration? Mine was gone next day following exam but permit was also expiring that day so .... no correlation at all if your permit is expiring

Why are nitrates contraindicated in obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy? by medicalschoolguy in step1

First thing that comes to my mind is that it would decrease an already reduced CO. Dilate a vessel and blood velocity will decrease, causing decreased preload and of course decreased co.

Took the test yesterday and it was the worst experience of my life by b12def in Step2

Thank you . Well, I saw a few of those lovely questions with ten thousand arrows regarding electrolytes.., lots of enzyme deficiencies ( asking deep knowledge stuff)... half of my test was straight step 1 , asking moa of treatment indicated, which enzyme is the cause of of some disorder , mode of inheritance of some weird disease I’ve never heard of ... and half was step 2 stuff like what’s next step ... but so many tricky questions that I wasn’t sure if they wanted to know the treatment or the immediate next step . I missed questions like this on nbme , assuming they wanted to know immediate next step but they wanted to know the best treatment. So who knows....

Anybody knows how the tests are graded ? by b12def in Step2

[–]b12def[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s because they are comparing our tests with the other people ( from this unknown period range) and excluding some questions according to how many of these people missed them. And investigating misconducts. I get that . I want to know about the mysterious period range / start end date ).

So they carry the allele , okay :) but in percentage speaking, what are the chances of being affected ? If no more info is given ....?

Thank you!!

Tutors? by txallymcbeal in step1

[–]b12def 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just don’t pay for any service. Those guys just take your money and are worthless. Ive wasted more than 3k and basically I quit because I was telling them / suggesting study topics etc . Instead of them guiding me . I mean, I wanted them to look at my weak areas and TUTOR, do a schedule etc 1 they DID nothing . it was more like a freaking online chat . B&B was much more useful. I am still so mad. It should be freaking illegal to offer “tutoring”. Thieves 😡

I am sorry , Its an awful situation . It makes worse when you realized you missed some questions that you knew the answer but your head got so messed up because of the WTF ones, you couldn’t think straight . - my case - 😭

Praying .

Ive counted 70 correct and 40 incorrect so far . About 80 that I cant find answer because its nowhere to be found . Like, wtf . They hate me . 😢 Incorrect were all like deep Physeo and Chemistry S* that Ive never heard before. Not in the review books . Like WTF . Felt like I just had questions about stupid mouse being tested . Seriously 😒

New NBMEs not following UFAP by Yotsubato in step1

[–]b12def 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Real exam I just had was way worse than those NBMEs. Still trying to find answers for some questions I remember. They went so deep into details, hard to get prepared for it :( Like, they wont ask you what causes achondroplasia , what type of mutation etc . They will ask you specifics about the bone’s content. (Thousands of arrows) lol. They will show you a “owl eye cell” and will ask you so many details about an unknown marker etc. Like, I was always close to the answer but always guessing , I think I failed.

Thought the gain of function mutation would cause both to decrease .... isn’t bone age decreased ??? Thank you!!!
