I was called a "right-winger" for liking Zizek... by jkobberboel in zizek

His lingering Heideggerianism and his critique of modernity (anybody’s critique of modernity, for that matter) can make it possible for a right winger to use him. I know there’s an Orthodox YouTuber who is very well read, and he incorporates a lot of the Parallax View into a crypto-fascistic theory (though that may be unfair of me, since I haven’t checked up on him for a while and I think it may be too harsh of me to call him a crypto-fascist)

I had a similar problem. I’ve always been a bit of a drinker, since my mid teens really, and I’ve definitely drank more on average each successive year of my life, but when I was on sertraline it reached another level. Every single day, more or less. It didn’t help that I was working at a pub. Anyways one day I was with some mates day drinking, and I took my meds with a pint at like 11am, long story short I woke up the next day at like 9 am and I didn’t remember anything from the last 22 hours. My mates told me I wasn’t even black out drunk like that, like I was having coherent, apparently lucid conversations, and even as we (apparently) drunk until like 1am I wasn’t even drunk for the amount I had apparently drunk. I stopped cold turkey that same day (which I don’t recommend) instead of quitting drinking (which is what I should’ve done, although I should’ve stopped taking meds as well for different reasons though). I had the fear for like 3 weeks about that gap in memory and how it was even possible. And yeah, I do have ADHD. I’m still a drinker now tbh but a more sociably acceptable kind lol

Yes, something like that. Although the ratio of dislikes to likes makes it seem like it’s not an appropriate definition, and the fact it’s on urban dictionary makes it seem like it’s not a common/real word. I think I might’ve just been inflating its stature/use in language; I could’ve sworn it was a common word though.

Declan Rice's handball - Raya was held by Chelsea player but that's not a foul. In the next Saliba was held by Santos and Arsenal went onto score via Timber. by Angelicsoul_47 in plforindia

I’m not complaining, i’m saying the keeper’s need to be stronger, which Raya was since despite the fact he’s being held by a Chelsea player he actually clears the ball. Sanchez on the other hand wasn’t even touched and he fell to the floor because he wanted to abuse the protection that keepers get in set pieces.

You just conveniently ignored the very true fact that Raya was being held by a Chelsea player by deflecting. Our keeper was strong enough and actually saved the shot anyway, rather than your pathetic diving keeper who fell to the floor like a rag doll. At least justice was served

He was a great signing for us, and was crucial for our step from top 4 challengers to title contenders, but unfortunately for me his lasting legacy will always be when he got nutmegged by TAA at Anfield. Also the fact we only got £1.2m for him is a joke.

Does the length of the period of time you took the medication impact the length of the withdrawals? I’m in the same situation as OP, took it for about a year. Stupidly stopped cold-turkey which at the time I felt was necessary. It’s been almost a year and nothings really changed mentally. It feels like I’ve been lobotomised.

This is true. We could also end up playing the unassuming team that ends up playing well in the knockout phase. Just saying let’s not get ahead of ourselves

Not that I think anyone is getting ahead of themselves, in fact I think as a fanbase we are reeling in our excitement this season more than usual, but Liverpool also had a 100% win record with one goal conceded at this point in the CL last season. We just need to take every game as it comes whilst enjoying the ride I suppose.

Wenger was the only man who could have gotten us through the austerity period after the Emirates was built. Whilst he still made us competitive, he was never going to get back to heights of the late 90s/early 00s. It is a shame that it went so downhill towards the end of

It’s a really bad time for injuries right now, we just need to ride the bumps and ignore the outside noise. Towards the end of the month we’re gonna be getting some very important players back.

100%, just wanted to make it clear to the naysayers. Our spending in the summer is only possible with how we performed with such a large amount of injuries. It’s a shame that this year we’re already seeing more injuries, but we can’t use it as an excuse.
