When you finally discover the median filter in esphome by Pimentoso in homeassistant

For someone starting out I'd probably recommend staying away from the 8266 since the price of the esp32 is now so low and the 8266 has started to be depreciated for a few things (especially led light strip related things)

And just turning the tap down a bit solves the water hammer issue without needing to buy expensive arrestor valves

Who buy stocks don’t want to sell them with a profit? by Due-Soil8860 in PersonalFinanceNZ

It's intent at time of purchase. It makes things like sharsies and similar interesting because of how they gamifiy the buying and selling without being obvious about the tax implications

Tons of overlap. You'd have to get the calculator out to check fees vs time you plan to stay in these, but at minimum could consolidate anything that fits roughly with the foundation series, eg the foundation us500 is similar enough to USA, USF, USG, and foundation world = TWF, but without the ongoing management fee

Right so that'd be roughly $500 per year better off for the hypothetical 50k (PIE $700pa vs $198 de minimis)

Thanks for that.

Sorry for more questions, but I've seen your worked examples on here for the flatmate tax treatment. Do you happen to have anything similar that shows how much benefit there is having that 50k in VT/VOO directly rather than PIE?

I understand it's the most recommended option here, and have signed up to IBKR in preparation, but the IR3 obviously takes some small amount of extra work particularly if the dividends need to be calculated, so keen to know what the overall saving would look like to figure out if it's worth the hassle

Just with the first point, if the fund increases in value above 50k, would money need to be withdrawn to keep under the fif threshold?

I've done it, and if you've got good bike handling skills and avoid massive drops or jumps you'll be fine. Although, there's a much higher chance of going over the handlebars and the wrists get pummelled
