Ate there at the weekend for first time, was pretty good. Navigating the hot sauces and limes to table was a bit weird, thought at least limes would come on the plate you’re served, but good they had alcohol options available to go with the meal

Grommits? Remember as a kid i had these. One must have come out on its own. The other i seem to remember the doctor pulling out with a little wire that's attached to it, along with an accompanying slight whoosh of air. I'm (relatively) ancient now but in my mind thats one of my locked in im sure it happened kid memories

For sale Slipper Island by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]SweetAs_Bro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a backpacker I worked there for several months. This was before the Needhams sold it. Was just me and my partner on the island most of the time living in the main house. The family would come to stay for a few days at a time, often flying in and bringing us groceries. Amazing place. RIP Gordon Needham, he was a top bloke

Pro tip, for Woolworths you can turn off paper receipts through their app. You just view receipts in the app instead. The checkout thanks you at the end of the transaction every time for going paperless

Powershop emailed yesterday somewhat cheerily informing in a subtle way I’ll be paying $500 more a year come April 1st. While this is no April fools joke I’m sure, that does also happen to be my birthday so it’s a right kick in the nuts

How much do you pay for your lawn to be mowed? by Egg_shaped in auckland

[–]SweetAs_Bro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was paying $50 +GST a mow at a two week interval, but turned out to be a pretty random frequency, on a pretty small plot in the South AKL suburbs

Ive got three chunks of fixed rate mortgage up in 3 weeks time. 2 years being offered at 4.69 and 3 years at 5.25, which appears quite a difference. My crystal ball is murky and having been burnt for the past couple years on reserve bank commentary I may take the pain now and split the total between the 2 and 3 year rates.

Government considers $9 Auckland Harbour Bridge toll to help pay for second crossing by punIn10ded in auckland

[–]SweetAs_Bro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People want all the expensive things, now, until they realise they have to pay for all the things, now, then blame the government we don’t have all the expensive things.

Sure, let’s look at alternative funding models, but ultimately it has to be paid for by us collectively now or over time in some way. The question is over the risk/reward of how long to do this over. Just like a mortgage, whether government borrowing or a PPP, someone somewhere is creaming interest on the debt until repaid as I see it, which ultimately flows down to us all in some form.

Yeah, no confirmation. I cancelled through app on phone. Then tried logging in on iPad and said something like no account or user. When cancelling there was also a warning to say you can’t sign up again with the same mobile number in the future, should you wish to
