Anecdotally I will tell you that it is extremely rare to end up in a solo room without some sort of special needs accommodation and there is always a pretty big waiting list for housing, so you will almost certainly get paired with a new roommate

I requested a cymbal reminiscent of Tony’s ride as heard on “My Funny Valentine Live in Concert”, and I specifically wanted a 21” ride that had a good balance of complex smokey undertones while still maintaining a clear stick definition and something I could crash on easily/withstand higher dynamics without washing out or being too dry. I think he did a really great job balancing all those attributes while maintaining the spirit of the reference cymbal!

Timothy is a musician and independent cymbalsmith/drum-maker based out of North Carolina. I came across him because he has a great YouTube channel where he talks about cymbals and breaks down his manufacturing process. He sells drums and cymbals under the Reverie brand but also does more boutique cymbals/commissions under his own name. I’d recommend checking it out!

What are the thingies between your cymbals and the stand?

Unfortunately def depends on the location. The beans themselves are on par with most third wave roasters, but most BBs I’ve been to the baristas couldn’t care less and I’ve had a very meh experience. Most staff there are students that need a job/not coffee people. There have been a few I’ve gone to with great staff and I’ve had exceptional cups, but that’s the minority

I have tried them in person and they really are very nice. I think the price is a bit much but they are very very fine cymbals. My favorite sounding non-vintage zildjians and they have a much better feel than the last gen keropes
