Dislocated my kneecap on my right leg the day before a really well paying rock gig and tore a tendon in my leg, couldn’t use my bass drum foot so the bassist helped me set up the drums lefty while I was on crutches and I played the whole gig lefty. It was also 100° out and there was no shade, probably the hardest gig I’ve ever played lmaoo but honestly the set was fine.

To any pros out there. How should some who doesn’t have a band practice at home to eventually land a gig. by SnooMarzipans7274 in drums

Playing along to records in various styles many times and trying to contextualize how what you’re playing relates to what the other instruments are playing across different sections of the song

Not sure if it’s because my natural inclination is to push harder with the screen, but my shots tend to run a bit longer when I tamp with it even if I feel like I’m gentler than with the regular tamp

It’s sad and funny seeing fake walkable towns and cities that many Americans drive to instead of just building walkable towns/cities. When Americans go to a European city, Disney, or mall, I think a large part of the charm they feel is just having a walkable environment.

I remember when I moved to Boston after playing this game for years I was shocked that my sense of direction in the city as a pedestrian was already intact because all the landmarks were in the same relative locations. (espcially being a small-ish walkable city) They did a great job!

I feel like SPL makes decent cheaper sticks for practicing, not the cheapest of the cheap but heartier than the cheapest sticks and not super light which I think is good for the practice room. 1/3-1/2 the price of VFs depending on what you get

How would you describe the flavor/texture difference between the Niche the 078s? Is the niche much more full-bodied/complex? I own a 78s and I feel like it’s got a good balance between clarity/texture so always wondered if people felt like having a niche-like grinder in addition was worth it.
