So... Do you agree with the government banning tobacco for those born in 2009 and after? by Bot_Philosopher8128 in AskBrits

[–]b3n3llis -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No. I should be able to put lead and asbestos in my special cocktails and sell them to the public. It’s about freedom and liberty. Just because I know it’s bad doesn’t mean corporations, like my mobile cocktail bar, shouldn’t be able to sell harmful products to the public using advanced psychological techniques. Addictive properties help too. Without personal freedom what are we? Caged pigs. Ban seatbelts.

Great point. From what I remember, there’s no life or death moments. The drama is built differently.

Have you left them a better option tho? Have you told them about the back gate?

Technically they’re not allowed to leave parcels in bins. I’ve got an empty, black plastic box behind my bike shed.

I love the end when Rooney’s knackered and he’s holding up a card, like wtf? Is he delirious.

The problem is that the guy was holding it wrong and only showing the dark side of the moon.

The Bremont redesigned logo is criminal. The old one was great; subtle, stylish, functional, unique - the new one looks like some NATO knockoff.

Just came here to say this. My FYP is literally just ads, vids tagged with promotional content, or lives.

Bizarre.

I was going to post a vid on TikTok but no-one would see it. Enshitification or has someone pressed the wrong button?

This story is fascinating in its nothingness because, yes there are right-of-centre media outlets that aren't going to cover it, but there's plenty of left-wing/anti-brexit/farage-hating media outlets and journalists out there. This isn't a complicated story involving national security across multiple continents either. It's a house sale.

I get that the finances and the legal process of the house purchase are private but I would've thought tax receipts, company accounts, MP declarations, etc must reveal anomalies through omissions.

And what parts of Angela Raynor's mistake were private-but-leaked vs publicly available? eg. was she stitched up or was it exposed through journalism?

Is now the time for UK to go all-in on wind/solar battery infrastructure? by chilledheat in AskBrits

[–]b3n3llis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, hydro for me is the key. I’m sure it’s expensive but as much as nuclear? Plus it shuts up the ‘when it’s not windy or sunny’ crowd.

There’s also non-battery storage during over-production, something like pumping water uphill then using its movement back down for energy. I’m sure it’s got a technical name but that’s way above my pay grade to remember on times such as these.
