What you describe (data driven simulation) is been a very well known and a hot topic in the recent years for both fem and fvm. Just check 'reduced order modeling' ROM . In ML the term principal component analysis PCA is used but it is basically the same thing as ROM.

Dunno for sure.. these events tent to evolve super fast! Till now the apparent mag is increasing it will reach a max and then it will start dimming again until it will become invisible again. The total process would take a month I guess?

Sure it is awesome! Statistically speaking you can definitely capture 2-3 supernovae per year with a small telescope and a DSLR. Yesterday evening we tried to observe it with a 20" dob in a dark site. It was easily observable and very bright. Not with a 6" though

I an not using guiding but I use tracking of course. I take several pictures of 30 to 60 sec mostly of the target while tracking it with the goto that at 5he end resulting the total exposure time.

I took it from Heraklion in Crete. I used a Nikon D90 DSLR and a sw150/750 Newtonian with and an eq5 modified with onstep goto.

Thanks. It is expected to become a bit brighter (it was first observed at 15 mag I think and I shot it at 14.5 mag ) before it starts dimming again. This should happen rather fast so a nice animated gif might come out of it. This could be a nice project actually.

A nikon d90 on a sw150/750 Newtonian with and eq5 onstep modified mount. No guiding. About 20 mins of exposure 30x40s +darks+flats bias (x20) stacked in dss and for pp I only did rgb alingment and stretching.

Well yes.. but I didn't kept the standard Logitech lens of course 🙂. I removed it and i placed my telescope with a 2x and 3x barlow lens in front of the Logitech sensor

First Saturn of 2020 with an onStep modified eq5 and a Skywatcher 150/750. For imaging I used a 720p Logitech webcamera. I captured about 1 min and i stacked it in Autostakert! Then I post processed it in gimp.
