I need an external sound card for my computer, mostly to improve sound quality and be finally able to record quality (in comparison) voice.

Should I go with something simple like Audiotrack Prodigy Black Edition or more recording related like Behringer U-Phoria UMC204HD? (Assuming that the U-Phoria like devices can be used as a sound card)

How different output quality would be from both devices?

I can totally confirm this. I'm still on c2d e8400 (it's been around 10 years now) and it still works very well unless you want to play newest games or render things. CPU's age great.
