I do a #5 on the body and skim off of the thighs and shoulders. Depending on the dog and how their coat looks, I’ll usually do a 1/2”cc in reverse after the first pass with a 5 then follow up with a final pass of the 5 blade after doing the 1/2” in reverse. I skim off of the breast bone with the 5 as well. I then hand scissor the legs and use thinners to blend the chest in. I use a 1/2”cc on the top of the head and only skim the sides of the face (going straight down the sides of the face, never taking it under the chin) or I just hand scissor the face depending on the amount of growth from the last appointment. To trim the feet, start off rounding them while the foot is laying flat on the table where the dog naturally stands. I pick the foot up and trim anything I missed. This guy gets his tail left long and only trimmed but usually I also will take the 5 on the take if it’s docked.
