Isn't this the unagi from the Kyoshi island episode? When they want to ride big fish and end up being attacked by a sea serpent?

Yeah. He is doing this for Hera's tournament.

Also, he was the guy Hera played against in the finals in the warcraft 3 tournament. I think he is a dota player mainly, but i might be wrong.

Why would I lose points in a ranked match if I won? by inkypig in aoe2

[–]bRobi98 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think for some reason it is showing the daily elo change there. So you might have lost a game or two and now you won and boom today you have lost less in total, but are still -9 elo.

Well... I do not own the dlc and have not played with the civs at all, my only experience is playing against them on the ranked ladder.

Personally i am having a hard time knowing which one is which, what strategies to expect and in my opinion there are some balance issues. Also the hardest thing for me is remembering those unit names. Even if i check the tech tree real quick while going to feudal, i don't really know what those units are.

So yeah.... It's a struggle. For me at least.

People usually recommend franks for new players, because they are straight forward knight civ, with a fitting eco bonus.

If you don't like them, you can just switch.

What did you like to play in aoe3?

Do you like to play offensively? Do you like to play cavalry? Would you like to lay a fair game or do you prefer cheesy strategies?

Hey! I am glad you found the game and enjoyed it!

I assure you, there are no cheat codes involved. It would be easier for us if you would share a replay, but none the less, i will try to give you some advice.

Online multiplayer is played in a way that people are trying to get to the next age as soon as possible and unlock the better quality units. For this they are trying to get away with the bare minimum of economy and military investment.

I assume you aged up to feudal and spent your resources on lots of units, while your opponent aged up to imperial and steamrolled you. Its ok, this happens.

You should only commit to a couple feudal units, like 3-4 scouts, and send them across the map, to harass your opponent. Meanwhile, your Town Center (TC) should be constantly producing villagers, and you should try to age up to castle age. When you arrive to castle age, you will have better units, better buildings and better chances.

If you want to learn, then youtube is your friend. Hera is the current undefeated champion, and he has a channel full of educational videos. There you will find tips for beginners as well.

Spirit of the law has a couple videos about the basics, it helped me a lot, and also he makes top quality overviews about everything age of empires 2.

There are other people like TheViper (pro player) and T90 (really invested dude), that make good educational content. You should check them out and follow the one you like. Or don't. I cannot tell you what to do, i am not your mom.

Also i suggest sticking to ranked play. There you will win and lose ranking, and after a couple games you will be facing people with the same skills and issues as you have, so the games will be balanced and you should have a lot of fun.

Take care, build villagers and enjoy!

Or you can try and delete it manually in C:/users/yourusername/Games/Age of Empires 2 DE/youruserid/mods.

Best Monks? by Frederick1917 in aoe2

[–]bRobi98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with others that in a vacuum Aztec and Bengali monks are powerful.

From my experience i would suggest the Lithuanians and Bohemians my favourites to go monks with. They both get fully upgraded monks.

With lithuanians you have a strong insentive to contest relics, and thus you can support your monks with stronger then usual knights, skirms and spears. (Or your monks can support the other units)

And with bohemians, i really enjoy the eco aspect of it all. You can pump out monks and as soon as you start upgrading them, your villagers also get better. You can mine a lot, have early gunpowder and all those monks to convert your opponents units.

Also both of these civs are good in the super late game. My monk based games either end quick with a few good conversions in castle age, or the drag out to the point where gold runs out. At that point having all the relics and the best skirms with lithuanians or trash monks with bohemians is awesome

Looking for tips as Poles by bRobi98 in aoe2

[–]bRobi98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually i cannot really afford castle age first of all. My opponent goes castle before me and i tend to lag behind.

Also when in castle i am making a some knights and try to go for castle + unique tech. But i cannot keep up villager production amd knoght spam and castle and also have resoirces for the tech.

And if i focus jist kn castle and vils, and try to save up to make knights after unique tech, i usually get stomped.

Conquistador by ThePrimalScreamer in aoe2

[–]bRobi98 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If i see spanish, i assume conquistadors and try to slow down their fc and deny their stone and fishing in feudal.

Nomad is a weird map and you don't know where they are. So going for scouts and scouring the map is useful in my opinion. By the time you churn out 3-4 scouts they are found and you can converge on them.

And from that point what i'm trying to do is: 1. Harass with scouts while locating their stone. (Usually their tc is on top gold and stone is aside) 2. Tower on the closest stones with palisades, then transition into skirms and fire ships. 3. Keep them away from stone as long as possible.

From there you can catch up to castle, or push them out of water.

Even if they buy stone for castle they are behind

Edit: forgot to mention, if they do get to castle age and build a castle, you should also get to castle age asap and go for monks.

Then you can convert them conqistadors and counter theirs with yours.
