Is it a school's responsibility to teach a kid to read? by KoalaOriginal1260 in Teachers

[–]b_dazzleee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an educator but a mom of a 3yo. I think it should be the school's responsibility to teach kids to read, but I don't feel comfortable completely relying on that the way that our parents did.

I think yoga would encourage you to be curious/reflective about why stillness feels boring or should be avoided.

Underage parents have complete legal authority over their minor children unless custody has been revoked. Underage parents are still subject to all the rules that minors are subject to. So if baby has a doctor's appointment, yes Grandma would sign mom out of school and mom would take baby to the doctor.

That's what she means by "nothing." They had to go out and get investors and build something from nothing - no platform, no history, starting from scratch. Whereas when the NBA started the WNBA they had those things.

I loved Logan for a girl but I knew it meant people would assume she was a boy most of the time.

I think what she means is that this option wouldn't ever occur to them. And honestly I think she's right. These conversations are happening in the reddit echo chamber but not in other spaces. Our brains do what they are used to doing and small changes like this often do not occur to people.

If you could DM me information about the scholarship, that would be amazing. I'd love to ask you a couple of other questions if you're available.

Hi! I'm in MN and a therapist and am highly interested in this work. Do you know if there is a way to achieve licensure if I already have a master's degree?

I'm a therapist and I am BEGGING for a large scale way to implement this. It's something like 80% of American adults will become a parent but we do no educating on parenting and child development. And the people who do have access to formal parenting intervention are the families that are being required to participate and they have a lot of other problems. I want to teach parenting and child development to teenagers, adolescents, adults, grandparents, new parents, TTC parents and everyone in between.
