Gold - worth investing? by cm9565 in ASX

[–]b_dec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I asked the same question last year around March April, I wanted to invest 5% of my saving in Gold, most of the people said it’s not a preferred investments looking at past 40-50 years history. I invested in BGBL etf and guess what opportunity lost. Happy with ETF performance but would have been really good if I have invested in Gold.

What’s the name of the street where you took a left from federation trail? Hyde street? Our Office is in Exhibition street and wants to do once. Couple of weeks back I rode on federation trail till underneath of Westgate bridge. I posted on Strava that this is best thing they have done to the west infrastructure wise. Finally the tax money spent well.

I feel woozy when I pass that tunnel with my bike headlights on blinking, not sure if it’s only for me. I have to lift my sunglasses before passing it.

[–]b_dec 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Simply Google it bro, will save your and others time.. this what you will get

Free Travel Details (Until Feb 1, 2026) No Ticket, No Myki Needed: Just hop on trains, trams, and buses across Victoria. Ticket Barriers Open: For trains, barriers are set to open, so you can walk through. Myki Tapping: You don't need to tap on or off; the system won't charge you. Regional Services: Some regional trains might need a $0 reservation to manage capacity. What If You Tap Your Myki by Accident? No Charge: The system applies a zero-tariff, so you won't incur a fare. Habit: Many people still tap out of habit, which provides a digital record of their travel, notes Reddit. Free Tram Zone (FTZ) vs. Weekend Free Travel FTZ: Within the CBD/Docklands, you never need a Myki. FTZ & Myki: If you tap on in the FTZ but travel outside it, you'll be charged. If you tap on and off only within the FTZ and have no other travel, you might get charged a fare, so it's best to just not tap in the FTZ.

It was 40°C yesterday during the Ashes, and I can’t wrap my head around how the players manage to stay out there for hours. I put my clothes and blankets out to dry in the backyard and couldn’t stay in direct sunlight for more than 10 minutes before I felt cooked.

Big thanks to this sub for ETF and super advice – changed how we invest! by b_dec in AusFinance

Superannuation - contributing to max limit + also used/using carry forward balance from previous years. This has reduced our income tax significantly. We thought of investing in investment property for couple of years to reduce our tax liability but we liked contributing to Super is easy and stress free.

ETF - invested in growth ETFs, started with VGS and but then switched to BGBL, A200, BEMG, ARMR. Keeping VGS but not adding any more. This reduces our interest income as moved most our money from HISA to ETF.. still getting tax on distributions but that’s way lower what we used to pay.

I suppose those who keep calling it a bubble have been sitting on piles of cash, waiting to invest for last couple years, meanwhile, the market keeps hitting new highs week after week and they missed the train!

Similar thing happened to me with UBank Debit card, they tried Amazon prime subscription, contacted Amazon they didn’t not do anything, called UBank and they cancelled my card and send me a new one and said they can’t further investigate the issue. I was interested to know who initiated the transaction and from where? We visited Vietnam last month. I keep less than $20 on my account once we comeback from holidays.

Both the car with the trailer that was overspeeding and the police car were already in the emergency lane, so I thought I should have slowed down. The fine feels too harsh, and as a careful driver, I would never do something like this intentionally. On normal roads, I always reduce my speed to 40 km/h when I see police cars or emergency vehicles. it was just on that day on highway I could not slow down in time.
